Escorto.
My old man has an 95 L200 with a 4d56t in it. The thing used to be the most reliable ute ever. Then it got hot and the No.1 cam lobe wore out. We have since replaced the head and everything in it. Now its got noisey tappets. they are adjusted correctly. Dad thinks it not getting oil to the front of the cam. Does anybody know what this could be?? Dad swears nothing was blocked when he put the new head on. Cheers, Adam

Escorto.
Yea my guess is it has to be a blocked gallery in the block, or the pick up. Yea it was reasonably well looked after before this happened.
Ranter
Haven't seen this happen before, it is possible to get the head gasket back to front blocking off oil feed, I guess you could check this easy as it'll be dry up top. Also you can't use roller rocker cams in non roller engines if any changes have been made.
Escorto.
Head gasket is the right way around. And it isn't dry up top. Infact when I pulled the rocker cover the bloody semi circle seal at the back fell out, It ended up pumping about a litre of oil on the shed floor. Rollers and cam are standard replacements. The only thing I'm not 100% sure of that the cam bearing shells are in the correct way, Guy we brought the head of did them and lapped the valves in.
