k2dori
Discussion: http://oldschool.co....cussion-thread/ Hi oldschool, this is my little ke70 project. Sad to say that progress is quite slow being 17 with little knowledge, no fabrication abilities, broke and not having enough contacts haha. My first and previous car was a kp60 with a 5k w/ twin dhla40's which was written off, straightaway I wanted to move onto a ke70. It was a frustrating long search for the right one it took over a year. I finally bought this in December 2011 to save from being a ”stance” posse victim, When I saw this car in person I instantly fell in love with the factory Toyota 489 beige and I pretty much bought it because of the colour, well... aswell as how tidy it was, with 113,000km on the original 4k! It’s all pretty much original besides head deck, roof racks, chrome front bump and dobi and jamex superlow springs I got home and instantly removed the wannabe ass barrel and suitcase along with the coil hang, and put it on my 14×7 +7 and +8 type a & b watanabes that I had sitting in the garage for a while. My initial plan was to get SSR meshies but when I saw the watanabes I didn't even have to think twice. A quick photoshop from a while ago of a rough idea of how I wanted it to be sitting My Plans Are: -Coilovers -Along the lines of 13x7j+ low offset kyusha kai wheels -Bring exhaust up a inch or two so I can go very low From there have it as a daily runner and continue gradually collecting parts: -4age 16v smallport + itb’s or mikuni or fcr carbs, something along those lines Not after a power build mainly due to how light of a chassis the e7 is, more focusing on response and just wanting to be able to have to throw and work it into corners with numerous clutch bashes to get it going -W series box -86 rear end w/ TRD LSD -Stiffer springs upfront to cater for 4age -Possibly go up to 14's to cater for brake upgrades -Angle catering knuckles -Eventually stripping it out, half cage for the track! One gay ass day I clipped my fence trying to avoid a huge dump of water because I didn’t want to get the garage floor wet (LOL ) then had a little hyperventilating session while kicking the shit out of the fence. I bought a door for 100bucks shipped up to me after inquiring at spartan autos for a $350 dollar door with rust , spent a light year waiting for a mate to come paint it and he just never followed through, got sick and tired of relying on people so went and broke the reserve piggy bank and got it painted by CPR ending up costing me more than intended to. Car finally got some love giving it the first start after 4months due to having a flat battery. I sold my watanabes to my mate and purchased these starsharks from japan 4x 13x7j +0, 2x 7.5j +5 through Ewan (on the sea to New Zealand as I type this) Bought some dollar cutties off trademe and quickly chucked them in the rear but still unsatisfied with the height and how it's already bottomed out on bump stops. Will give them a shave once I sort a spare pair. Bought Brock-Lee's front coilover setup, still eagerly awaiting for them to arrive, which I will be temporarily running the cutties w/ correct shocks to suit in the rear till I can afford a better long term rear setup possibly coilover rear for adjust-ability purposes or just trd spring and shock. Scored these A3A's today off a good man named Nick, it maybe because I'm getting wheel sick waiting for the starsharks to arrive or that's just an excuse to hide the fact I'm obsessed with wheels haha. 13x6 +6? Will hopefully have a hopefully worthy update soon. Thanks
k2dori
Little boring update, Chris aka EURON8 came and stole the roofracks today. Seeing as I was already in the garage I thought I'd do a little investigating on the bump stops, I took them out and sat the car back down to see how much lower it would sit, it went down quite a few more mils. (picture above is the car still sitting on bumpstops) I'm gonna have to take off two sections of these, not sure if they're still gonna be effective do their job but unfortunately cant get to the desirable height without doing so. Can't fit a scissor jack under the chassis rails, somewhat of a sign that I'm on the right track. Still need the front setup to arrive so I can see what it's like with the front matched up, and very curious how it's gonna look and sit on 155/65/13's on the starsharks, next thing on the list is to get some appropriate shocks or get these 30 year old bad boys shortened haha. k2dori
Finally got a new battery and now it's back to life so hopefully reduce the amount of driveway and garage photos. Also need to get my hands on some xt130 control arms and camber plates to fix the quite excessive positive camber from the coilovers Rebogged a thin layer back over the quarter and kept the gaurds metal, primered. Pretty much ready to roll to North Shore Toyota on Sunday, just have to chuck in my new adjustable panhard rod and beat the front gaurds

k2dori
Picked up a 22spline t50 with a bellhousing to T series I think out of a ST140 but apparently you can use them with a 4age backingplate. Also picked up a 7rib Bigport, cut and shut inlet manifold, extractors and came with k50, bigger radiator and exhaust weee.
k2dori
One broken tyre bead later To be honest even I think the stretch is a tad silly, it does look good on the 7"s in front but the 7.5"s are abit too much for me, not really complaining though as it was 1/4th of the price of getting tyres that fit, + I don't have to do shitall to the gaurds, comprimising win win situation. http://www.maximum-style.tumblr.com checkout my mate blake's blog, he covers a bit of the scene. k2dori
Thanks Ryan for kindly letting me borrow his red baby, he'll probably tell ya all not to lend me anything again! 1 Broken hydraulic ram later I finally got the rubber mounts in and had to use the other 4a to k series block mounts I had in the garage. Scored a T series rear assy with a locker woop woop. Just a few more little housekeeping things before I can get some seat time behind this but I am definitely excited as. Intank Fuel pump setup (welding baffle and pickup flange to my current tank) Kill this Loom 8KG front springs Throw in the Longer LCA's Roll Centre Adjusters Traction Brackets And that's pretty much all I can think about on my priority list at the moment. k2dori
So I just said F it to EFI and bought this, this should solve 50% of my wiring problems heh? Also finally got round to slicing some bumpstopass, might of gone a wee bit too happy there with the blade. Time to check if they still work... k2dori
Ermahgerd a sternce erpdert, 20mm spercers. I don't even know how I feel about them And conversion wise. I'm currently stuck with my carb setup, My carbs get pulled too far apart by the manifold for the linkage to work so I need to extend the linkage tab, and on top of this the throttle wheel doesn't clear the manifold and needs to be cut off and relocated. Both of this requires welding which I am not capable of woop!

k2dori
Mounted up exhaust with some wire bahahaha, this is as high as it can go, it's right up against the floor. So next stop is pitstop for an exhaust tuck. Kurt took it down for it's first drive down the road and back was so stoked. Do mind my excitement "yeHbOI"
k2dori
Bit of an update, lockers in, threw in some 8kg jamex springs, and borrowing my mates 6kg HSD rears, and Todd got my knuckles done. Kurt came around and we mucked with the timing, so it's abit more advanced now. Took it out for my first ever drive and was just purely stoked. (TURN SOUND UP!) k2dori
First ever drift/track day yesterday. I was only just getting the feel of the car as it was only my second time driving it ever with the new engine. It would seem to run out of gear and begin to grip really fast, I couldn't figure out how to get the handbrake going either. But just lots of minor problems occurred throughout the day, including overheating, injector port plugs shooting off twice and losing some studs holding the carbs to the manifold which ended my day. Didn't get as much track time as I would have liked and giving away more seat time than I got myself wasn't too smart. But overall pretty happy with how it all turned out, suspension felt good, knuckles were awesome, didn't feel any axle tramp, and surprisingly didn't blow any of the drivetrain. Now to get the carbs all secured, get a good tune, wider steerers, alignment and get back out there! Thanks to all that have helped to get it out there on the day. Merry Christmas all!
