k2dori
maximum-style.tumblr.com Got some longer bolts to hold the carbs to the manifold this time with washers and threadlocker to prevent them coming out again. 2013: This year I am planning to focus it on driving, and getting my car as reliable as possible with available funds ($0.50) T series drivetrain, brakes need attention (this is going to be the difficult part with the ke70 struts) and I also want to build a smallport engine alongside. k2dori
Thanks to AJ at Pitstop I finally got my exhaust done, it's all nicely tucked higher than my sills and most of the chassis rails Took AJ's new hoist's beach virginity (ended up doing the same thing next door at beaurepaires) Before LOL After -Replaced the Coby extractors for Japanese Aftermarket ones 4-1 to 2inch with 1 res. Still very loud! Thanks to Jaden at Beaurepaires for doing my alignment, before making my 10k trip home with my new exhaust! Very fun!
k2dori
Went to Todd's Meremere day on Sunday, was loads of fun (this is almost like a mini sequence) Big big thanks to Wes the GC for getting me there with a last minute midnight mission. The car was feeling really really good after unloading and going for my first run, I was confident to start throwing the car around more with the exhaust clearance and majorly reduced under steering issues with new alignment and dropping the front tyres to 28psi. The rears were cranked up to 48PSI which made a giant difference too. I had a big grin on my face after my first test run and I was sure it was going to be a good day. Things went downhill again stud by stud. Due to my ignorance to do things properly from the start I had managed to strip the some of the thread on the carb manifold so the studs werent holding the carbs properly causing vacuum leak. Despite finding nuts and bolts to fix the problem the injector port plugs started playing up again and there was a giant leak from there. Ending my day way before it even began once again. This barely stopped me from enjoying the rest of the day though, I'm really loving the grassroots atmosphere! Can't wait to get back out there and have my car last a full day. -Stan

Popular Post k2dori
Digging up da dx graveyard, its been a while but not a lot has changed except for 2 different diffs later I finally got my hands on the right one. Solved the running problem turned out to be ecu after trying 4 more and retiming it 1000 times. Finally completed a full day at the track the corolla was there running till gates closed, despite dropping the t50 out and tackling a minor rebuild with Kurt and Todd on the day all the other cars had broken down before mine surprisingly.Pretty stoked on how it handles, just needs more caster for quicker switching but other than that it's pretty primo!Small clip by kurt:http://instagram.com/p/uryYioSGwm/?modal=trueLooking forward to 2015 track days!
k2dori
May 2015 went drifting at Taupo, only difference since meremere was that I whacked in some T3 30mm RCA's which must have put a bit more tension on the castor arms as the auto steer was super responsive in comparison to the last outing, some new 165/55 xr611 nankangs in the back and also tightened up the handbrake.Unloaded in the morning running on 3 due to a dodgy injector wire, some GC with a soldering iron in his pocket came along to the rescue, drifted all morning till one of the wires came off it's lug for the efi relay solder guy to the rescue once again, skidded all day again till i chewed a drivers side brake hose due to rub on full lock drove down to repco 5 mins down the road to pick up two new ones, fitted and bled up then drifted for the rest of the day till I rain out of fuel.Since then I've managed to unlock 4.1 ratio locked centre on a nice sunday drive but have recently put in a 4.3 replacement.Going to enjoy a few more days this year then rip out the oem ecu, loom, intake mani and throw on my link g4 + ITBs for the new year and might expirment with my new 86 front susp and arms
