shizzl
any of you guys removed a diff out a suby? i swapped my utes for a wrx thats got a blown rear diff. its locked up and cant be moved so needs to be done on the road. seeing as its locked you also cant rotate the driveshaft to undo all of the driveshaft nuts at the yoke.. i dont want to be sitting under it on the rd for copious amounts of time dicking round so if you guys know the exact way to get it out that would be awesome...my thoughts are (and ive never done a IRS diff removal before) ill need to unbolt the rear struts from the hubs and pull the axles out of the diff first, then undo the plate under the driveshaft/diff..then the 2 rear mount nuts, then the other diff bolts.. i should be able to pull the nose of the diff down to get at the top driveshaft bolts ae?? then drop the diff head out and throw it in the bin... any other tips??? cute wee gem
Does it have stub axles that pop into the diff head, then the axles bolt to them? If yes, it should make your job a lot easier. Unbolt axles, unbolt diff head, drop down, then unbolt front driveshaft. If not I guess you have to do it as you said.
shizzl
the axles slip into the diff head... doh think i might try and pull the axles out so i can drag it off the side of the rd.. then tackl the head head once its in the shed as i get time
