EvoBilly
does anyone out there have any tip on doing a manual conversion on a mk2 esky?
Raizer
Since you have all the auto parts, use a Sierra box! /Its an easy swap, worst bit is the guide for the clutch cable on the firewall.

Thats your best bet. Stronger and nicer to drive with.

Raizer
Auto drive shaft is shorter and has a larger spline (fits Sierra 5 speeds), auto cross member is different (fitted backwards it fits the 5 speed). Manual cross member should bolt straight into an auto car. Use the complete manual pedal box, since you will have a parts car cut the section of fire wall with the clutch cable guide tube out and weld onto your firewall. Raizer
Can get around it, but have heard of people having issues with snapping cables from having it on the wrong angle etc
EvoBilly
can anyone tell me how the gear leaver comes out of the manual tranz or do i leave it in when taking the motor and box out and in the car? going to plan this car should be running on the road by the end of this weekend
Raizer
can anyone tell me how the gear leaver comes out of the manual tranz or do i leave it in when taking the motor and box out and in the car? The shifter has a big plastic nut that screws into the top of the box, you need to bend up the locking tabs around it then just undo it and the shifter lifts out. Don't cross thread it when putting it back in or it will likely develop the amusing habit of popping out of the box when you change gear lol /\ fancy aftermarket short shift, but gives you an idea of the tabs etc.
