R100 Posted August 30, 2011 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Currently wiring up an RB25DET. Its a Variable valve timeing version. How important is it to connect up the variable valve timing ? Will it make much of a difference to the power ? Everything else about the engine/turbo is standard. Basically i do not have loom that came with the engine and are adapting a RB20DET loom. Its only a 1/2 wire plug, depends really on your ecu your using, if your using 20det loom i dont think this plugs into the newer style rb25det ecu so if that the case youll need ro run some form of external driver, not worth it. Requiemk Posted September 2, 2011 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Yer you can but was a bit of fiddling around with it, cant remember specifics.The injector and coil pack plugs are different, but that was a minor issue compared to other things that werent right.
