I was thing about putting a roll cage into my car for the odd race track event etc. and wanted to know what kind off cage is good. would a 6 point roll cage be enough or do i have to get more bars in etc also are ones that just bolt together any good or are they just good for a show type off thing? Testament Posted May 1, 2011 Share Posted May 1, 2011 a cage isn't mandatory for going on the track and trackdays etc. or even most clubsport events. that out of the way, an 8 point cage that ties into the front and rear suspension is ideal but a 6 point is still good and will stiffen the chassis a huge amount. Welded cages are better than bolted in, although a bolted in cage is better than no cage. you should be able to find heaps of photos of other peoples builds with escorts being so popular as rally cars to help with ideas of what to tie in to the cage etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
