wickmyster
Which model chaser has interchangeable suspension components with the A70 supra? I am looking at two cars for drivetrain and maybe suspension for my supra project. I am also wanting to know which year chaser etc stopped using the distributer and started with crank angle sensor etc? (Dragged home my supra and is a bit more spartan than I realised LOL) so whatever I can scrounge from a whole chaser is a bonus.
ryanfels
Which motor are you talking about mate? the A70s came with a few different motors. I dont think the JZX chassis shares its suspension with the A70, i know the Z20 does though
wickmyster
I am going 1JZ-Ge, I have 1st option on a complete 1991 JX81 Chaser atm. But am keen on a JX90 I am eyeing up, but am waiting to hear back on(would get better resale on the body LOL).
cute wee gem
Try searching http://forums.toyotacressida.net/forums/ You'll have to register before you can see anything on that site though. x8 can use a70 rear struts but the front is macpherson and supra is wishbone. I think jzx90 onwards changed to the same as a70s but could be wrong All I can say about the cas/dizzy is that jzx81 has a dizzy
wickmyster
Dizzy a disadvantage?
cute wee gem
I'm pretty sure they ditched the dizzy when they went to vvti? which is a big advantage as the older ones lack torque in the low revs - as for the actual dizzy/cas difference, I don't think you'd notice it. I'd honestly use a 2jz-ge if I were to go N/A but the newer vvti 1jzs might be better (can't comment as I've never driven one) Hard to find any info on the 1jz-ge generations.
