ryanfels
I cut the wires to my O2 sensor to extend them tonight and the wire has a single silver coloured string thats got a dark copper coloured wires around it (does that make sense). Am i able to use some standard 1mm wire to extend it or do i need to get this special wire?
QCADTA
got pic? sounds like a screened cable to stop transient voltages/induction effecting the signal to your ecu. are you extending it to run around/near other wires? if so id keep it screened. UTERUS
The screen should be earthed at both ends anyway, fuck it, just extend the centre core and you'll be fine.
ryanfels
hmm i cant seem to find a picture on the net but it looks very similar to the pictures of the screened cables on google. Im only extending it as the wire gets to close to the dump pipe for my liking
R100
Just extend the wires, youl be sweet. Chances are if you removed the oxy sensor completely the car would run the same. Im sure theres plenty of imports rocking round with stuffed oxy sensors.
