fuel
Galant VR-4 and Evo 1 GSR is viscous LSD Galant VR-4 RS, VR-4 RS Evo and Lancer Evo 1 RS is 1-way plate LSD Lancer Evo 2 and 3 both GSR or RS are 1.5-way plate LSD seriously, you need to start directing these questions at www.mmc.org.nz or www.msport.co.nz, don't come to oldschool.co.nz with vr-4 and evo questions. LILVR4
so can i put a evo1 rs in my evo 1 gsr ?
mjrstar
I know the Evo 4 plus has a different arrangement to mount to the subframe and requires different axles when swapping to to an RS unit. As for the 1-3's i'm not too sure but it would pay to check..
fuel
sorry I should have mentioned the viscous LSD and plate LSD inner CV joints are different - the viscous LSD has one short stub and one long stub while the plate LSD has equal length stubs. You should be able to get away with just finding the inner CV joints to suit your specific diff without having to get the whole driveshafts, with exception of the VR-4 RS diff which doesn't use a tripod type inner CV joint like the rest do. fuel
yes. now next time you have a VR-4 or evo problem and you feel the need to ask a question, don't ask it on oldschool, or at least don't clog up the tech section with threads - ask in the spam thread or something. I'm sorry if this sounds negative but we would prefer the tech section will be filled up with helpful info on older cars, not stuff about modern plastic cars.
