Hey all

Rob here, Long time lurker, first time poster!

Im currently in the porcess of putting a ca18det into my MK1 escort

I am using mitsi injectors and understand they are the wrong resistance (not sure if its higher or lower) Was wondering what people have done to get around this - i.e new resistor packs etc

Any help would be much apprecaited, as i want to try and get this thing running over xmas

Cheers

Hi,

Im using the standard computer, think it is a S13. It does have a resistor pack from the stadard loom, just not sure how much it is

So do i need to get the resistor pack from a mitsi?? and wire that in, in place of the resistor pack that is on the car?

Cheers

I guess measure the impedance of the mitsi injectors compared to the nissan ones, and then measure the impedance of the nissan ballast pack and do the same with a mitsi one you can get ahold of, if the values are mostly the same then it should be sweet to run the mitsi injectors in place of the nissan ones. Otherwise, yes you will have to use a mitsi ballast pack in place of the nissan one.

Hi guys

Fuel: Cheers, that was what i had planned to do if worst comes to worst, but i never had any injectors with my engine. And the fact that wiring is just not my thing!!

Mr Mk1: Yes, all looks the same, i just made some small spacers to make up the height difference. Mine are only GSR injectors - 390cc and a tan colour. Im pretty sure thats the reason the injectors have the small tag on the front in a dfference postion, to show the diff impenence.

I do remeber seeing a acution on trade me for some mitsi injectors that came out of a nissan, said they worked fine with no mods??

Surely there must be heaps of nissans out there with mitsi injectors!!?? have googled with not much luck....

Cheers

mitsi evo injectors are the same impedence as the nissan ca18det ones so the dropping resistor is fine, the ca18de however uses different impedence injectors and dropping resistor. if you dont have a dropping resistor for a ca18det use a ca16de as they are the same and often cheaper.
