tortron
anyone here ever popped in a split screen? is it as much of a prick of a job as everyone seems to think? (i have fitted the rear screen, which is suposedly almost as bad, without much drama - so are people just pansys?)
Unclejake
I did split screen removal and replacement on my MM1000 and recall no issues except that the rubber is 1000 years olds and will crack. I used a bit of string jammed betwen the rubber and sheetmetal to peel the rubber out (with screens intact). The string was in the inside of the car I think (it was a while ago) Black silicone fixes all and as you probably know the screens are flat glass so new ones can be made by anyone for bugger all money. The centre bar was of harder material that the main rubber IIRC and did not lose its shape

Unclejake
I think I just pulled both screens out of the rubber once they were on the floor. Sorry dude - it was in 1984
