now holds about 400mls more oil, has 25mm wide skid rails folded over on the bottom to be 4mm thick. a front skin of 1mm steel (no oil behind it) then the main oil pan is remade from 3mm thick sheet and has a low profile sump plug

i here by challenge anything to penetrate my oil pan

and yes i deliberately left it whorey looking to scare hedgehogs out the way

7525_184151284765_530014765_3719996_5708848_n.jpg

poor pic but now in the 3rd revision, they have been brace top and bottom and have mounts fitted for a more modern approach at sway bar links and a new lock stop

7525_184151279765_530014765_3719995_3619347_n.jpg

some go faster bits, nology leads and a holley blue pump

7525_184151259765_530014765_3719992_7923959_n.jpg

stripped cleaned and then...... left, need to re drill the mains to 1.8 and lift the needles up a clip (i hate that job i always loose the tiny springs)

just need a new cross member and i can start throwing it all together

thought id flip the ring gear over to the fresh side, had the dryer on in the garage (mega humid) which made a thick layer of ice over my frozen flywheel. was so hard to not lick it :lol:16141_187184284765_530014765_3753218_4421586_n.jpg

there finally all in place with the brake lines all fitted etc

16141_187184294765_530014765_3753220_1763028_n.jpg

SHIT! where did that bit get too, time for a treasure hunt

16141_187185389765_530014765_3753229_6579103_n.jpg

found it  was in the container of bolts for the old front struts

r1 carby school time

in the top of the slide you will see this lil white tag

16141_187184299765_530014765_3753221_6361386_n.jpg

carfully pull it out with needle nose pliers, BE CARFULL there is a stupid little spring behind it (dont be tempted to push it out with the needle they bend too easy)

16141_187184309765_530014765_3753223_8360320_n.jpg

this is your buried treasure, the stock position for the circlip is the middle groove

16141_187184314765_530014765_3753224_6305249_n.jpg

i dropped my clip down one notch, dont forget to replace the little plastic spacer if you do your car will run like a dead dog

16141_187184324765_530014765_3753226_7808532_n.jpg

easyest way to replace it all is to fit the needle into its hole the lift it back up and hold it steady while the replace the steel washer, spring and lock tab

keep pressure on the spring while you push it back and lock it into place then check the needle is still free (few mm movement) and has spring tension

repeat 4 times
