Steelies
13x7 0s and +10s yeah! 80s mirage centres and new outers. cost me $50 per wheel to cut centres out, turn OD, fit and weld in outers and relocate valve holes.

Popular Post Steelies
wow, schlong time no post. nats '14 and tour of love are on the horizon, so what better excuse to dredge this old thing up? also keen for a daily that can do 100kph. the pre nats list is quite big but slowly getting through it. motor has been out for a range of new seals, cambelt water pump etc. didnt want to look inside, it can just be smoky till it dies. here are some things, in crappy phone pic format. both inner sills fucked right back to that bulkhead bit. best way to fix rust? change the carbs. CBR1000. by the way UJ, your engine crane is at my garage. heh! //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/24210-steelies-kp60/page-8

Popular Post Steelies
coming together. runners done, tacked to flange. hose, clamps and test fit on motor all check out. Ally TIG has been a good re-learning experience. let's just say i'm stoked this isn't a highly stressed part. carbs will be braced to motor also.
Popular Post Steelies
car pics are mock up a couple nights ago. managed to get the manifold finished and leak tested (found a hole, yess) today. my alloy welding didnt seem to improve.. lack of penetration, blow through, not much in between haha. floor slowly going back together, fingers crossed it's on the ground later this week. /wiring, vacuum, new spark bits, throttle linkage all that happening at once. shaz tell your old man to write up a clean sheet i'll come pick it up, thanks

Popular Post Steelies
OK Nats '14 was rad. still reelin from the feelin. trip counter rolled over twice during tour of love/nats.. total 2,255 km, used pretty much 150l of fuel, 15km/l. crazy! i was worried about leanness the whole time. by the last day of nats it was running on 3 unless i had the boot up it woe is i, what could it possibly be. clearly ignoring all pete's bike carb advice. carbs had come off the manifold, particularly badly at no.4, DUH! such economy, so leaking just pulled em off to find this now. need better/silicone union tube too, this petrol hose is getting a little hammered. pretty stoked it's a relatively easily solved problem, also stoked i didnt break anything. yay starlet daily for winter! next step, get the 13s back on there
