Mods I have the owners permission to post an update for him as he is having trouble getting on the net.

Well it has come a long way since the last update!

There has been at least one more parts car stripped down to bring it back to life.

The immortal kyteler did a feature on it at the begging of the week, which can be seen here:

We fitted a 1300 single port into it yesterday (the 1600 is going to get a bit of a freshen up before it goes in) and sorted out the wiring etc etc

Also learned that if you don't put a little bush into the bellhousing the starter motors spline slops around and you will kill the starter!

When I left last night it was 2 12v bulbs and a flasher unit away from going for a WOF, so hopefully it went through today and will be at the nats this weekend.

failed the wof but not to bad just brakes head lights need to be inproved ?and get the number plate light to work and thats it

clutch judder real bad i'll have to pull the motor and have a look but it's all smiles in my shed

made it to the club run in napier, the rat ran really well got down and back with no engine problems just a few electrical things to sort out came home with no wipers and one headlight but its all part of the fun of vw's, decided i'm going to sell the narrowed/lowered beam as i cant get used to the way it looks
