Guest LOW_EX
is there any type of struts that will fit a 81 ex lancerr that are shorter?
Blueex
The best/cheapest way is to carefully dismantle them & have the shafts shortened or buy inserts & have them shortened.
Ogre
insert from a colt lancer is shorter, but its just easier to the get the ones in there made shorter. Not hard or expencive.inserts outa the 20valve sprinters fit and are shorter ive been told, but meh, cheaper to just shorten some EX ones. rxtoy
i've tried 20 valve struts (ae92 from memory) and they don't fit without a shit load of messing around and custom stuff, easier to shorten stock ones. cheers Matt
Ogre
i was just talking about the inserts.I wouldnt even bother with those even
rxtoy
sorry, i did just mean inserts. ended up ditching them and going back to shortened stock inserts. made for a heaps better ride once working right. cheers Matt
Ogre
yeah for sure, i would try finding some GSR struts as they have a 55mm internal strut area as opposed to the stock ones witch are 45mm, sigma etc may be 55mm, im not sure.Just means that you can put way better inserts in, and they stronger etc i guess
