davidian
gearbox international in new lynn Kaspa transmitions in favona supposed to be good, and Marshall as well is supposed to be good. is your box fucked or u dont know? how hard depends on model and condition, you generally cant tell untill you rip into it. Also Italian Job in Otahuhu are good, specialize in Italians but hey im shure they wont turn you down. dont expect cange from over $1000 if the box is fukd
Guest escort_boy
lol well i got hte box with the car when i bought it and he was unsure of the condition of it. Is there a way to tell or do u have to physically pull it apart?
davidian
think about it bro... its like looking at an engine, but you cant "turn" the gearbox over it cost me $180 from Kaspa to pull it apart, clean, check and put back together. but theyre mates with the guy next door who sold me the box, so that shit is corrupt as. but yeah count on 2-3 hours work to check it so you figure out the cost yourself, what's it? roughly $55 a hour? thereabouts
TygerTung
I'd just chuck it in and see how it goes
peteretep
you could tip some oil out and if its still good then chances are that the gearbox isnt too bad. If it was worn or whatever the oil would be black and/or have metal in it
CaMpylobacter
whats wrong with the box in there at the moment? I'd also give it a whirl first, if it's worse than your current box, then just keep using it until you recon your current...
