nah old hilux head wont fit. A pre 75 full hilux axle will fit (no shortening) but needs a bit of modding on the leave holders and handbrake. Also your drive shaft will need redoing. But good luck finding one as i have been looking for round 2 years now with no luck. If you find one it is a good diff to use as it doesnt have bad ratios, solid 81/4 crown wheel. Also the later LSD diff heads are usable in them.

The standard diff should last a while. Aslong as when your doing burnouts you can spin 2 wheels. Maybe ya rota cant do that tho :lol::lol::lol:

my diff has lasted for ages now and id have round the same power as a mild worked 12a. 120hp.

havn't done any line locks in it yet, but it seems to step out and spin both when i give it a bit of shit, 3rd gear sideways in the rian is pretty scary shit haha. it seems to be handling the shit alrite, g box is on the way out i think tho. if i had a weber ida on it and a decent twin system exhaust it would be up round the 200hp mark probably. fucken quick for a little 12a. and yeah it is the gun metal grey one on reflexes. i think it mite be parked up for a while soon tho, got a speeding ticket and i've run out of demerits so think i'm gonna lose my license, fuck the police.

Which series 12a is it?

What box do you use?

You could go with a cortina or xf falcon diff if you dont want to spend too much $. The xf falcon utes were LSD in some cases. means you will need to redo the driveshaft but.

it's a 12a turbo block with a tall port centre plate and n/a rotas in it. and jus got a series 1 rx7 5 speed. and atropine, that was the first fine i've had for speeding, the others have been for restricted license crap. i jus happened to be givin it a bit of shit in the wrong place at the wrong time, cop was probly 300m away headin in the opposite direction and didn't show me proof of a reading so i wrote in tryin to get off it. jus another cunty cop pickin on me coz i drive a rota.

and your just another person trying to abuse the setup of the system to get out of a fine and penalty that you deserve. i knew a guy who drove a very heavy turbo rx3 for well over a year without getting pulled up. along with his roverV8 gemini, blown '30 modelA, '48 ford pickup and a little suzuki ute burnouter with a 1600 sidedraft esky block.. its not always a case of what you drive but how you drive. you said yourself you were giving it shit. my dad use to take my brothers signwrittin fusion crx out through town trying to get pulled up after my brother constantly bitched about copped pulling him up because of his car.. crazy enough my dad never got stung. you broke the law and got snapped, pure and simple.

RotaNut. Ya car sounds like it'd be nice. Would'nt mind seeing it oneday. Was originally going to put a 12a in my mk1 untill i decided pinto.

Where ya from? There is also a 12a in a blueish green mk2 in toerags thats alright.

Untill i am finished building a turbo set up i guess id leave ya be on the road :)

i just try to remain nuetral with things like this, commonly religion. i just love how people use what they drive as the reason theyre losing their license. a lot of classic car guys back home, from a hot rod club and a classics museum always think id get targeted in my car but mysteriously never get pulled over.. the 2 times i have was for illegal tints, which were legal, cops mistake, and for failing to indicate and a bung taillight, which the cop let me off since i fucken treat them right and not like their just another fucken cop pulling me over because of my car.

Yeah. i think its how you treat them that decides on the fine youll get. Sometimes they even will let ya off. As for the car you drive. Some cars do get targeted alot. i had an old rugged looking corona. not low or anythng just rugged. i used to get pulled up all the time when i had my restricted. They would pick on me and although it was my fault for carring passenges some times you just have too. My car had a few diff coloured doors so i was always in the shit :?

What year architecture you in man. im doing degree in architecture at massey in Welly.

can you get lsd heads that will bolt into a mk2 diff housing? and are the 1600 sport diffs bigger and stronger than a 1300 one? i've got a mk2 escort wif a 12a bridge, and don't imagine the diff will hold out for too long. any help appreciated, cheers.

Only difference is the ratio - same strength diff and halfshafts.
