  1. best to ask your certifier who they recommend for crack testing, and make sure they are certified to do it. I used a guy at Fieldair in Palmerston North. And he is the only certified local, i could find. Was only $40 though i think.
  2. Brought these from Yahoo Auctions Japan arrived a month or so ago. Where supposed to be 4x 14x7.5" but 2x are 14x7 -1 Started stripping the paint on the two 7.5's And Boom, much nicer. Also picked up this TRD flywheel thanks to CaMpylobacter and Henry. 50% lighter than the factory dual mass piece.

  6. Had a chat with Techno Toy Tuning last week. Ended up with these beautiful stainless spacers for the Corolla's 4-link rod ends. The idea was to try and get rid of some of the irritating rattles coming from my current aluminium spacers. Got them installed, back down on the ground and went for a drive. But she now had an epic squeak coming from somewhere underneath. ARRGH Turns out I had done them up to tight. Loosened them of, and it seems to be great now. In other news My Overalls have arrived. Ready for if i make it to a track day one day! Up next; Sound deadening? Lightweight single piece flywheel?? Locker???

  8. Brought and installed a pair of Max traction brackets. lower arms are nice and parallel now. and some NGK iridium now installed. boring huh. Also definitely needs a lsd or locker.

  11. Hey. They are the 195/45/14 toyo's 14 inch tyres are going to be a bit of a nightmare in the decent future I feel. As from what I can tell most companies including toyo have stopped making low profile 14's.

  14. went for a drive over saddle road today. that is all.
  15. loooong time no update. Went back to the above location with the dslr. Got the following result Not much else has changed, wheels are 14x7j +12 Front & 0p Rear Had to "daily" this for a couple of weeks, is a bit noisy. Still just the TS-X8 in the back for music, and seem to be going pretty good. not sure if i should hunt out some 6" vintage pioneer for the front doors, or go new school. Oh and made a whooping 110kw on the last dyno run, bit better than previous 95kw at the wheels. Definitely quick enough & a handful when i want it to be.
  16. i have a 1991 1uzfe soarer that is doing some strange sh*t, just wondering if somebody on here can offer something we haven't thought of/looked at. when i got it, the Idle control valve was stuck open. so the fresh air line to it, was blocked off. This meant it was dificuilt to start/drive when cold, as it wouldnt hold any revs. I brought some bearings and rebuilt it. it took a while to set it back up again after rebuilding it (not to open, not to closed) but i was pretty sure i had it sorted last night, idling around 600 while warm. Started this morning first go, idling around 600, so was happy with that as it was a rather chilly morning. At 12 i drove to get some lunch on the other side of town. still going sweet. Started at 3.30 to go home (it was bloody hot outside now.) and it was up around 1500RPM by time i had got a few blocks it hadn't changed. and if it was put into park or neutral would bounce between 1500 & 2000RPM ( i read that this is because it cuts the fuel at 2000). Got to my parents place out of town, and pulled the IACV off, and it was WAY open. More open than it should ever have to move. cant see how it could have opened so much between parking it after lunch and as i started it at 3.30pm. so if you could be bothered reading all that, and have some insight or ideas. im happy to hear them. Im thinking maybe the temp sensor is bung. or its something in the ecu. but hope it isnt. Cheers
