  1. its been a while since ive done any work on the triumph since ive been getting my vauxhall ready for its wof. To my surprise it passed 1st time, so its freed me up some time to get started back on my trumpy. So i knocked up some mounts for the solo seat on my lathe and pre drilled some holes in the frame I drilled a plate with holes spaced the same as the springs and used that to clamp against the frame so i didnt burn the shit out of my seat so now i just need to make the mount for the front bracket to attach to.
  2. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll give them a try tomorrow
  3. https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=speedo+cable+extender&oq=speed&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0j69i39j0j69i60.2898j0j4&client=tablet-android-samsung&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=ckdgGcAuT_OcgM%3A Same as this
  4. I've just bought a speedo cable with the correct ends from rare spares for my vauxhall viscount. I've put in a black 202 motor with a trimatic box until I can source a flexplate for the original engine and powerglide box. Because the new cable i bought is for a specific model it's shorter than what it needs to be. Is there anywhere in chch that can make/sell me a cable extension with the same female connection that goes to the clock and a male connection that will go to the speedo cable i just bought?
  5. not really an update. i put the pipes back on that i originally built it with and mocked up an oil tank that im gonna use. i'll make a mount for it and probs weld it on this week. i'll try amd knock out some seat bungs too and weld them on i built up a tyre rack to get my shed more organised

  8. cheers seedy al. finally getting some motivation again to get working on it
  9. threw the motor back the frame to get it off the floor cos i was sick of tripping over it. thought id throw some apes on just for fun. i'll stick with the original ones i had on.
  10. my old man bought some harrows from a guy off trademe and told all the other stuff the guy had for sale. so i went to have a look and came back considerably lighter in the wallet. got myself a new front wheel also got a couple more mudguards a bead roller a little yamaha roller, does anyone know what model it is? and another front end
  11. i'll measure it up tomorrow night and let you know
  12. ive got a couple i can take a photo of and show you. ones an old british rounded one and the other is a front mudguard from a heritage softail which i was gonna chop up
  13. what style of rear mudguard are you looking for?
  14. had another tidy up and put the roller up on my bench and positioned the seat. im gonna ditch the coil springs for hair pin style
  15. not really an update but ive decided on the colour im going for. ive sprayed the mudguards and tank of this lowrider that im selling. its right on the money to the colour i was looking for. and its an aerosol colour too
  16. made myself a polisher from an old electric motor i had lying around, bought some arbors and polishing mops and set to on the top yokes. this is a before and after of how they looked. gonna give it another good polish.
  17. got the headlight mounted. not a 100 percent on the position. maybe mount it up further to middle?
  18. i soaked the crank in molasses and hot water over night to get rid of the surface rust. it worked a treat. theres only side to play on the rods none up and down. once i purchase a new plug for the sludge trap i'll start removing it
  19. had abit of a tidy up and moved my vauxhall to give me more room to work on the bikes
  20. cut my finger at work and got 3 stitches and a tetanus jab and have the rest of the week off so im gonna strip the forks down ready for painting and modify the lower yokes for the bump stops and headlight mount. this is where i want the headlight to sit.
  21. i cut the spokes and removed the rim and dismantled the brake and kinda polished it up abit. Finally found a guy that builds wheels. hes next to the salvation army op shop in sydenham. a 2 minute walk from my work which is handy put the new forks on which came today. paints rough and chrome is shot but theyre solid and the stanchions and seals are good. 2 of the bolts which clamp the bars had been snapped. also stripped the paint from the tank and it looks galvanise under all the paint
