  1. Be a 159 with that level of heft. I love them but they definitely did pack on the pounds. After test driving a 2.4deez one a while back, they definitely feel more solid. But the 156 is a few hundreds kegs lighter and it's pretty noticeable. They're a lot more nimble.

Yeah wouldn't touch a sillyspeed EVER.

hooo boy, I also browse these cos they look cool and are bargain priced, so it's interesting to hear you got some reliability out of one. 147 and 156 have the same running gear?

I mean it's Italian so it's always gonna have it's electrical niggles (alarm has a mind of its own, as do the heater controls at times) but as far as starting and running everytime it's been great. Also might add it's got 270k on the clock haha. So she's up there for an alfa.

Essentially yeah. The twin sparks and jts engines love to drink oil. The busso v6s are lush but are maintenance heavy. But yeah the JTD diesels are fucking awesome units.

  3. Depending on the budget you'd damn near get a petrol gen3 paj. By the sounds you aren't doing much off roading? Gen3 are significantly nicer trucks on the road than a gen2 and would tow better. Steer clear of the early 4m41s with the zexel fuel pump though unless the pump has been done.

I watched this a couple Of weeks ago, aforementioned colt goes against other cars in its class round Tsukuba

Yeah they need a remap as they're not suuuuper quick in factory form. Those RS197 clios are rapid. Took one for a test drive a couple years ago.

Sweeeeeeeeeeet! Yussss! Looking forward to it. I've not been through there in yonks. Even when it had gravel it was still a choice road.

Yeah it's not huuuuugely scenic but it's good for nangs.

  6. Thought of this thread the other day when I was coming back from a job in kaikoura. Took the inland road because slow tourists/trucks fucked me off on the way up. Also now with the hundalees being a pathetic 60kmh limit. Fuck it is so dead now all the post quake repairs have been done and errbody goes the coast way.

11/10 would recommend especially now, I would've passed one car, and maybe 4 coming the other way between the turnoff near kaikoura and waiau. Gr9 windy bits. Although a 3.2t ranger with toolboxes etc isn't the most nimble through there I gave it my best.

/this thread needed an almost 9 year dredge anyway.
