  1. FiL has a mint GB400 with 13,000km, he's had it for 20+ (could be 30+) years.

It will be going up for sale soon as he just doesn't ride it. I tried to convince him to store at my place,  so at least I'd also have the opportunity to not ride it on a regular basis, but he wasn't convinced.

Although that $200 may seem expensive, that is material, freight and cutting.

Seems reasonable to me, I always think, 'how long would it take me make it by hand?' $200 doesn't seem bad for a part you know will fit first time.

Do we even have these here?

The manual Jazz was a poverty spec option. A mate has one,  picked up recently with 200km, full Honda service history and is tight AF for $2k. To be honest it killed some of the joy of Milly the K11. I'm suspicious my last manual car will be a 6 speed RS Jazz/Fit.

Sweet write up, I guess you don't have centre caps for your K11 wheels? My Superlative Ds didn't either, so I had these laser cut for mine by the One Stop Cutting Shop.

So I started again with grade 5 titanium. By this stage I'd stopped taking photos as I'd run so many simulations it was getting a bit old, but the results were good, the anticipated weight of each component was great, and I'd never played with titanium before so seemed like a good time.

I sent some emails out within NZ and China. Its sad because companies in NZ really can't be fucked with smaller jobs and the associated admin. I got a few replies after waiting a few days and these replies ranged from not being able to secure the material (they couldn't be bothered) to having a minimum cut fee which made this only economically viable if I got three sets cut (I ain't paying for enough material to make that happen).

China made me feel like a king with absolutely great customer service, though I was still not 100% that I wasnt getting scammed... But after a few weeks my titanium rearset plates arrived!

I haven't had much time for filling around but need to tap some holes and buy some pegs, then they are good to go on permanently. Weight saving from the change to these Ti plates is 500g, however when I include the change to the associated light weight pegs, nicer bolts etc will be well over 1kg.

Colour change is due to some DIY anodising- super easy with titanium!!

Such a cool project, do you mind sharing the cost of the titanium cnc plates and the suppliers as this would be reallllllly useful.

    Bitches.

I have purchased a large Mikuni diesel bus heater that I will use as a shed heater, for reasons.

It is 24v, and I happen to have two spare batteries that are mostly fucked but may do for this situation.

What would be the best/cheapest way to keep them charged for starting and also when running etc?

I guess the most budget would be a couple of cheapy battery chargers, but would they cause issues if left hooked up long term?

What are your thoughts O wise ones.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mM5FeCa what about flagging the batteries and running one of these? We run them at work as laptop chargers as way cheaper than multiple laptop chargers. I assume the the 24V is just running a fan?

Xr125 fork tube has a big rusty scab on it.

    tore the seal to shreds.

brought a genuine new one from a dealership off trademe, $150.

    mint.

    job for next week.

What diameter are the fork tubes?

  8. Photo of the worst condition wheel in post as they're also going to be available.

A previous owner has painted straight over kerbing so they look decent from afar, but far from nice.

    They're 14X6+ 38 offset 4x100 and 4x114.3. Tyres all have 5mm+ tread 175/65-14 Dayton DT30s. I'd be happy with $500 for the set

  9. We're now ready to pass Milly onto her next forever home, I'll keep the bike racks, but not the Thule roof racks or wheels, we just don't use cars enough to justify having two. She's basically the same as when @yoeddynz  dropped her off to our place, plus a new strut top hat and a rack end, and another 2000km on the clock. If you know anyone who might be interested let me know, I'll put it on TM for $2k next time there's free listings but $1500 with wheels and roof racks or $1000 without on Oldschool. There is also a spare set of doors and the original wheels included (unless Alex wants the doors back!). Wof until October,  registered until 2023. Wheels have pretty oil slick nuts on them too....

Sorry I was hit by the site glitch and have just seen this.

Its working sweet, I just did a job for @Elle L for her housetruck rafter beams.

I would have no problem jumping into a LinuxCNC retrofit, the setup was pretty straightforward and the forums were good for solving specific issues. In fact I have been offered a big router basically for free that I would do the same to, the only issue is the space it would take up.

How big is it? I know a good local home for these kind of things...

Micra weirdos, what sort of economy would one get from a k11 with mostly urban driving? (L/100km)

/which variant would be most eco?

    cheers

Mine does 7L/100km (with wheels geared to make speedo close to 100% accurate), 1.3, manual 5 door, roof racks with 2 x bike racks mounted, not driven for economy, mostly 4 up. The 1.0 has a closer gearbox so might be slightly better around town.
