You don't need to remove the drive flange for pulling out the axle. You will need to remove the circlip that was on the end of the spline shaft under the dust cap.
Pop the lower ball joint, turn the steering to the left and hopefully that will be enough to swing the hub off the end of the shaft.
If you take the drive flange off the only thing you're going to access under there is the wheel bearings.
No the thing on the'diff' that the cvs joint comes out of.

Just replaced my brakepads on my surf and noticed both inner cv boots are buggered
Got 2 from repco but before I dismantle my truck what should I look out for?

All sorted, cv boots, wheel bearings, brake pads, radiator flushed, all greasable joints greased.
Happy days
