  1. hey guys recently decide to upgrade my brakes to twin pot eunos 800 ones on my v6 laser to get it to work i had to drill out the knuckle holes for a 14mm bolt got 3mm machined off the ears on the hub that the bracket bolt onto so the rotor is centre and 1.2mm off the bracket and get the ae111 275x25mm rotors lathed down to 260mm brand new bendix 1326 with the inner edge of the pad grinded 3 or so mm so the pad doesn't over lap in the centre of the rotor but after doing that i get this noise under brakes its really annoying me as i wanted it done for road and track tomorrow heres a video to get a idea sorry about the crap camera work was done on my phone "seems" to be coming from the left side the noise maybe warped rotor? 2. hey alex ive got the klze base map sitting on my desk if you want a copy of it, its not too hard to load the base map on them ps get a ms2 at least thats what i was going to run with itbs on the kl, but ended up selling as i plan on getting a ms3 with Ms3X expansion V3.57 but if you wait a few months i will be able to get ms products for about retail not these rip of prices that are around
  3. nice they look alot better with all the crap removed off the engine frees up alot of space  thats good that the manifold works what throttle body does it fit?
  4. yea sadly didn't think of that at the time as i only thought i would have to get the rotors turned down ,was just a quick upgrade for the daily driver before a cert also these fit behind 15s and maybe 14's soo is quite good  also would have to change rotors most likely if i did a bracket as it would be a very skinny bracket
  5. sweet i was "thinking" of taking the file or grinder to the edge ,but if its ok will just let the pads do it on there own as there brand new
  6. hey guys being upgrading my brakes a little with some semi bolt on stuff before a cert using a ae111 rotors turned down from 275x25mm to 260mm to fit nicely under the twin pot mazda millenia calipers with the rotors just passed the edge of the pad but after fitting them noticed this in between the red lines the rotors are tuned down 2 or so mm in the width so about 2mm of the pad doesn't contact it is this ok? will it hurt the brakes much or should i just use different rotors ,would cert guy be unhappy about it too? cheers
  7. nice may i ask how much it ended up costing you , i need to get one of my wheels fixed as theres a buckle for wof
  8. hi again ive got these calipers with a different calipers bracket on them, so im using the pad from the caliper bracket not the ones that the caliper have . question would it be fine as the pad doesn't go right to the edge thats closes to the wheel of the caliper like 1cm too short
  9. hey cletus got a question for you not really sure on it and neither was the guy at work ive got the back seats removed and buckles and belts is that a fail its a 2 door ford laser 90's and can you fail for a wheel been buckled? also if i get it certed for engine thats in it could i fit my other set of adjustables for cert and put stock lows back in later or would that fail as its not on adjustables any more cheers
  10. yip sure was, will do a video once its certed not risking it driving it around till then
  11. new daily driver a tow car for the other one shhh 2.5 v6 klze ford laser! soo on Saturday after work decided to go get it that day, booked the tickets with in the hour got a flight to Auckland from palmy ended up missing my other flight to Tauranga from Auckland so had to wait for the next flight 2 hours and a bit later in the boring airport made it there drove it back from Tauranga no wof/reg/cert all the way to palmy about 3am on the Sunday anyway heres some pics started fixing few things on it today and took it for a wof ................ ................. .. ............... not too bad of a wof for a car that hasn't had a wof in really 3 years it goes really well with plenty of torque had a great drive on some windy roads yesterday pulls hard anyway plan is to fix it up get it certed and use as daily driver and hit the track in it once a month and the étude will still conclude but more as a full on track car lightened flywheel, GTR 4wd clutch external coil Stainless headers, 2.25" exhaust from collectors to muffler, 2.25 out 2.25" catconverter Mazda MX3 subframes , front & rear Mazda Lantis brakes front and rear Mazda MX3 brakebooster and new 3/4 mastercylinder , stops on the spot Toyota AE111 rotors (275x25) close ratio-ish LSD gearbox, max 215kmh @7.5k only front seats (GTX style buckets) back seats removed bg axle, mx3 drivers axle Enkai RP01 wheels with street tyres Advanti CPO05 wheels with semi slicks and some other stuff
  12. wow very nice score on the parts , if you cant space that manifold up enough i might be keen on it, or even a set of heads if you are going to sell them mine has some pitting in the cam caps and on the heads.. you might be able to just fit another radiator hose filler in the radiator hose and cap the other one off to clear the manifold?
  13. rimrite is good always dropping a few wheels off to them for work and most of them are done in the day
  14. mmm lovely got to love the sounds of itbs, does it say what exhaust hes running? i was going to try and solidworks up a set of twin roller throttle bodies for the kls but put that on hold for a bit
  15. actually have a google or look on the 323f forum, as all the cba lantis have 2l v6 stock in them and most of them upgrade to the klze but surely someone on there has keep the stock kf ecu and afm. um not sure if i have vaf or ecu still but will have a look, the vaf is different it has b6d written on it.. i did have a ms2 v3 but sold it last week but soon will be in the market for a ms2 v3.5 with 3 coils in wasted spark and klze base map load on ready
  16. oh no you again haha not too sure whats the deal with the dizzys i think they just chucked the external coil ones on when ever they did randomly, because the kfze(2l) i had was out of a lantis type r with the lsd and it had a internal coil.. but do stay with the external coil setup as the internal ones are known for crap performance and burning out from what i gather people use the k8 ecu and the mx3 afm which is the je50 same as the 2.5 one and loom on there klze ,as they don't have to change wiring but not used to 100% of power but still work fine. i don't think you can use a kf(2l) ecu and afm on a klze(2.5l) as some of the wiring is different and i think the vris points are different on the ecu soo won't work so well, but the k8 vris points are closer matched to the klze(2.5l) there how ever is a base map i have in my hands for megasquirt and theres a pnp setup out for mx3 for the klze and theres some people around that can chip the k8 ecu to match the klze. sorry if im making it confusing with all the klze klde ect can get very confusing quick but keep posted as would love to see your one done rwd in a little viva cheers hopefully very soon make some big progress on it and go for a drive in it for the first time in 2 years a 1 month and with the v6 those moments are very sad when i sit in it and pretend it was drivable
  17. yea seen that, thats crazy but i think theres some ss ones on tm for 500.. yea making them is the way to go im doing mine with 40mm id tubing , just let me know if you want the cad for the exhaust flange or intake flange as ive got them around
  18. hey yoeddynz theres some headers around for them theres some on trademe and ebay has ss ones, but you would just have to remake the merge collector as your rwd but headers should work? and few other companys make headers for them hotshot, pacemaker ect
  19. yes there quite hard to tell if there a ze or a de with the kfs,k8s but easy to tell the displacment as theres a k8 or kf or kl printed in the back of the block on the left.question why don't you just find a full klze 2.5v6 one with the 10:1 comp pistons ? or do you want to stay in the 2l range , ps you will have to do some porting on your kf 2l heads to match the square ports on that manifold you are getting as thats to fit a klze 2.5 with the square ports i think they all have the trigger wheel which is a 6-1 spikes on it , also have a look at 98+ 626 klg4 2.5 ecu and ign setup if you just want a maf and obd2, 3 outputs to the coil pack and no dizzy as they have a cam angle sensor mounted in the back cyl head which would probably suit you more as your rwd ,but they only came out in the states... as for clutch i think they use the stock v6 clutch but have a Gooooogle around for klze swapped miata yea ive seen that kind of makes sense as you have too much oil pressure in the head and not much down below near the 6th bearing, ill be checking all my clearances when i get around to putting mine back together.. theres a adapter around somewhere on the net for using a rx7 gbox on a kl and the spacer for the flywheel to retain the stock one and clutch setup its alright happy to share some info , heres mine http://oldschool.co....-kfze-to-klze/
  20. oh yes another kl swap they can handle some boost about 8psi on a stock klze then you can upgrade the rods to 302 ones and use a oversized bearing or use KJ-ZEM rods with different wrist pins, but N/A is the way to go! also got klze vaf/ kl36 ecu/klze dizzy with the ext coil and a brand new exedy clutch if you are after them if you plan on going n/a look at upgrade the keepers and retainers from the klde as the ze ones are know for dropping out at higher rpm lol nice score on those parts tho i would of loved to snap them up with the other parts ive got ,so is the bellhousing you got bolt to the kl and w55 gbox?
  21. yes i know its sad but at the end of the day was going to be too much of a mish and sc is going to sound sweeet whinning away
  22. oh my just the usually setup changed again supercharger found its way on my engine .................. ........ .............. ........... ................. ........... ................... .......... boost is back eaton m90 sc off a ford thunderbird 3.8 plan now is to run a water / methanol setup into the roots and a water to air intercooler if i can fit it in the manifold im going to make over the week, then widen the track 2.5cm each side to match the lantis track cant be ass with fitting the itbs and tuning and the sc got my attention. now lets see the hater comments coming
  23. yea bpt are quite good motors all tho just get a bp from the wreckers and turbo that only difference is pistons, then get evo injectors and then do a vf10 or vf8 hybrid and you should be sweet or get a klze if you want to get 200hp n/a but would be alot of work to fit
  24. oh really weird , um crap cant remember what the combo was the tutor told me when i was at course last year it was a ford courier bellhousing with another gearbox or the other way around and he had that fitted to a zetec in his track car
