  1. Nothing exciting in the works lately besides fixing old owners repairs, First pic should explain well. Window Washer pump obviously shat the bed so they Jimmy up another pump to it just chilling there. Found a spare amongst my boxes of crap and fitted her up, the black paint drives me mad on the washer bottle, maybe covid will get me cleaning it well see..
  2. Simple fix is to trim a channel for the steering column, made a very good difference and I'm quite happy at that height. Next step will be to make mounts and maybe fit the centre consol too. I do plan on putting a roll cage in this car so will get more trimming once that is done
  3. First test fit was good but as you can see from pilots view the bulge in dash was quite high and possibly restricted vision as I sit quite low in my seat.
  4. Next step was to make a stencil out of whatever I could find at home, then trace It onto the dash and cut No going back now Always test fit the cut stencil too!
  5. With aunty Cindy giving us another holiday and my son being at his mothers this week I had some time up my sleeve, so finally getting into the job of fitting the s15 dash to the lancer Job started with a windscreen removal and a better look at the rust I need to fix, yay! there was silicon everywhere around the windscreen so plenty of surface rust was encouraged, gotta love home mechanics
  6. I'll try make it, maybe just a short visit even. Got some packing to do before heading south on a kawabunga snowboarding trip
  7. Not much of an update but I decided these wheels could use a clean up. So removed the bolts and started with 600 grit wet sand The couldn't locate my 800 or 1200 grit so left it at 600 and tried my best to polish it. Results are better than where I started but not satisfied yet, I will return with more sandpaper! Now I want new hardware too, the old stuff is too rustic to suit the polish
  8. Attend the whangarei oldschool meet and got some sweet pics Also replaced the pitman arm and fresh alignment that's all, I just wanted to share the pics tbh.....
  9. Hmmmm..... Boozy zoom from burgerfuel, providing you have a sober d ofcoarse
  10. Also pinched the fish nets from my green car as I find factory seats uncomfortable. Was trying to buy another set of fishnets but seems going rate is $700 which is stupid. I paid $150 for these and they're 9.5/10 condition. May aswell go buy brand new recaros instead. Stole the exhaust while I was at it and threw a flexi in, and mounted it more solid with cotton reel style mounts. Definitely the way to go.
  11. So ran into issues trying to source factory rear shocks and after much frustration this happed... I pinched the suspension and wheels from my green car as that's parked up with compression issues.... Starion struts, starion Lower arms, lowering springs and mirage rear shocks Sad to see this car like this again but it's also given me motivation to start fixing the rust and bodywork properly
  12. I never wanted to modify this so tried to make it as Nanna spec as possible by adding a blanket to the rear seat and a monsoon to the driver's door. Also straightened the front bumper out as it had obviously had an oopsie at some point. Took it all the way to beach hop even and had no issues
  13. I've had this 6 months now so decided it can get its own thread So I swapped my 82 l200 ute that I had done endless hours on back to the guy I bought it off for this beauty. A 1982 ex lancer gsl Originally 1.6 auto but has now got a big block 4g63 sohc 8 valve and 5 speed manual conversion. It had no wof or rego when I got it I put four new tyres on, replaced the fart cannon exhaust tip with a normal one and a few minor things it got a wof. And I daily drove the shit out of it
  14. Bit slow on updates, drove the shit out of this over summer and loved having it legal again. Probably chewed through nearly a dozen tyres Because I just can't resist a cheeky burnout The new exhaust has been absolutely ruined in the mid section thanks to all the speedbumps in whangarei... yay But it's been parked up again as a water line burst little to my knowledge and it got cooked. At this point it still ran and drove but used water so I went and ripped a classic 5th gear skid for the boys at a birthday party and now it really doesn't want to run haha The ideas are flowing for my options right now but aunty westpac says otherwise
  15. It's been a minute..... Here's some progress I guess ? Ditched the borg Warner diff idea when I had a mind explosion. Now has a s14 rear end I'm trying to modify into it. The surgery started with small cuts and ended up at this current state... definitely in the deep end over my head but all decisions have happened slowly with plenty of good advice from mates that are experienced in this field of torture. S14 subframe was purchased for one 18 box of 7p Cody's, no covid or rfb tax to be seen Obviously next step is to make a new rear chassis to accept Nissan plague into the lancer. This is a huge step and learning curve for me so may be awhile before another update Also a sweet handbrake I scored cheap And a sweet meme that suits this car
  16. @MACKAZ bumped into Daryll yesterday and heard the plan. Will be keen for burgerfuel
  17. Man I wish I had your level of OCD !!! I'm actually so excited to see progress on this car again, its been far too long.... Makes me want to buy another one but aunty westpac says no
  18. Attended my first Northland car club grass khana today, was convinced by @bigfoot to come check it out. Had an absolute blast even though I got the slowest overall time. Possibly because I was trying to drive sideways more than straight.... Definitely recommend giving these events a go!
  19. Thoughts on next monthly meet going for a cruise to say out the whangarei heads? Grab some fish n chips and do usual yarns, park up for scenic pictures even..... it is summer so yeah. Any interest?
  20. Booked the green beast in for a much needed wheel alignment tomorrow morning then off for a fish ! Also heres a couple pics of my other lancer I've acquired. Somehow every mitsi I buy is 1982 ...doh! Its originally a 1.6 auto gsl model, now fitted a 4g63 sohc 8 valve with webber carburetor and 5 speed manual. Its in fair condition for its age definitely needs tidying up but its still a solid car and I'm happy with having a standard looking one to park next to my others
  21. Car is officially warranted and registered after 6 years of shed life. The feeling is amazing! Next step is to improve the tuning on carb and timing so it pulls good as ild like to attend the oldschool drags in December
  22. Once exhaust was done I ran it for a wof and failed on shit it shouldn't have. I was pretty pissed off so took it to another testing station, similar results with a wof sheet of bullshit again. Third time I struck it lucky only needing to rebleed brakes and replace a headlight. Will be taking it back for a recheck asap! Before the wof i replaced the old makita springs with legit lowering springs and tidied up a few other jobs. Also the gold lancer is a new addition to the fleet. And stopped in at Bigfoot house for a pic Bring on some summer cruising
