  1. Built adjustables = real low. What is the lowest (from lowest structural point) someone here has got cert for? Also will I have any trouble with my home made adjustables? They are standard struts that have been chopped down. I had them welded professionally and the guy did a really nice job. Used Jamex steel sleeves etc so components are from a reputable brand. They have ample travel so that won't be an issue. I'm yet to have a yarn with cert man but I thought I'd try here first to hear peoples experiences. James
  2. Yes I realise that. Noltec/Nolathane/Whiteline etc. I was planning on using nolathane at the time I wrote the title. I imagine these brands are all of similar quality and as you said, most likely made in the same factory. I think Noltec and Whiteline are owned by the same company. Something like that. Lower arms and things arrived today so will get measuring.
  3. That sounds like it would be a common error, installing without enough grease. Thanks for the info.
  4. I've done a bit of reading online and it seems everyone has had troubles with nolathane/noltec/whiteline/rose joints. So I'll talk to Autoline soon and see what they have to say. Thanks for that advice Roman. I get pretty bad axle tramp at the moment so maybe stiffer mounts will help out?
  5. What car is this in? My rubber ones have most probably never been replaced so I would think anything new would be an improvement. Thanks for the input. It would be interesting to compare new rubber to new nolathane. I imagine most people especially on this forum would be replacing old, tired factory bushes so, as in my case, anything would be felt as an improvement. But I like the sound of crisp handling and nolathane certainly have the stiffness. Did your nolathane bushes get sloppy?
  6. Sorry I meant 'as above' referring to the lca swap, not location. Ok will do. What did yours end up costing? Thanks
  7. Christchurch. As I mentioned above, all those suspension bits are coming out so it would be an ideal opportunity to do the upgrade. Does the price vary as to how common the bush size is? I'd imagine the ones I would be using would be reasonably common?
  8. Ok thanks I think I'll do them first as I'm changing lower control arms anyway so all that assembly will be dismantled. Do you know what I could expect to pay for all of those bushed in nolathane?
  9. KA67 carina. Leaf springs in the rear. Where would I benefit from using nolathane bushes and what will I notice from suggested replacements? Thanks.
  10. Man I hate that! It happens a lot though. I got a pair of toyo's and a pair of yokohama's second hand (about 7mm tread). What size are you after? 13x7 would normally be around 195/205. I could possibly help you find some after exams in a week.
  11. I'm interested in the carinas monsoon shields if you would part with them?
  12. Sounds real good. That inland route is a great drive. But I will need to sort out a locky before putting my name down.
  13. Ok thanks for that. I'll see how it goes. I'll install them after exams and post up the results.
  14. Ok so I've found some GX60 arms, tie rods, and tension control rods. I think they use the bigger ball joint though so can I have the steering arm machined to accept the size difference? I presume the GX60 arms are the same as MX62 numbers. Please correct me if this is not the case. Are there any other parts from the GX60 that would be useful for the conversion? Any info is appreciated. James

    fecking brakes

^What's this? I have recently replaced my master cylinder, bled brakes twice and pedal is still not firm like it should be. It's strange because sometimes it will firm up and other times it will have a lot of travel.
  16. Haha understandable opinion then. The tan interior looks very good with the red. Very Ferrari.
  17. ^Plus one. CaMpylobacter, when you were young did you accidentally get your wanger caught in a sunroof? Sunroofs rule the world.
  18. Following the trend, I love the wheels. And the tuck is kind of cool and different. I'm trying to think what it reminds me of but not getting it. Tops ride though.
  19. Need to get nuts and cert for adjustables first. Don't think the current 4x4 mode would do them justice. Yea 155/60 on 8 inch wide. Couldn't have asked for a nicer fit.
  20. It started out as a 'low profile' option when low profile wasn't around. The main benefit is that it stiffens up the side wall something chronic which can be good for handles. Plus it can look the business. Got new rims + tyres the other day...
  21. Thanks Hellraizer, I thought it may have been adjustable at a different point ("middle") on the arm but I see what Truenotch meant. Thanks Joe for your post. It was both informative and helpful. I would recommend the use of caps lock and spell check next time you decide to throw your hat into the ring.
  22. Ok that's good to know. That thread deal sounds a bit shady/can't imagine it in my head very well.
  23. I think ill get the adjustable tops initially, get cert, and go from there. I've emailed t3 and they're sorting some out for me. I haven't really considered making rose joint ones. Are they difficult to make? What kind ofv advisability can you get from a roses jointed lca? Thanks for the input everyone.
  24. If you aint first your last though. Yea I've read about the sigma deal and that may be an option. I'm thinking of using the mx62 arms. Would the mx62 tie rods be compatible or would I need to lengthen mine some how (I don't imagine the adjustability would cover 40mm)? And can the lower arm be redrilled to suit the sway bar? Will the mx62 ball joint be likely to work? Any other compatibility issues I could run into? Thanks to anyone who can answer any of these questions, you're a champ.
