  1. Ok so still waiting on the wide steels. I decided to tackle the broken heater. What a bastard of a Job! Anyway after "customizing" the heater tap I now have a heater. Customized tap: Gave these a good cleanup & re-dyed the carpet for the centre console: Fucked: Putting the dash back together:
  2. Hey mate, Nice to see another trump on here. I've got a whole heap of parts if you need anything. I think I may even have a 3 Spoke steering wheel.
  3. Its damn tidy for its age. Only needs afew minor things to make it mint... Like me clean the engine bay & a new drivers floor mat. Oh lord the Avenger, to be fair it only majorly let me down once. The rest of the time I was able to rangi it up to get home.
  4. Somethings missing..... Took the radiator to the local radiator place. He chuckled and said "its fucked mate." Then he wondered off out the back, and came out holding a brand new core!! turned out he had been sitting out the back,in the box for the past 25 years. Score. Something else is missing too the wheels are going to get widened. Should come back as 13x7's. Heres the audio I picked up for $82.90, including the suitcase. And i gave the dash a good clean Project Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34606
  5. Well so much for my starter motor rebuilding skills.... Starter motor crapped out at the warehouse in a cloud of smoke. I headed down to the wreckers & found they had a very squashed & sad looking hunter wagon. Managed to salvage the starter motor from that & a complete Hunter badge. My one only had "___NTER" left. Second saga of the day Was driving out to the old folks place, suddenly It decided to get very hot.... I hope its just a stuck thermostat. I did notice that the heater doesn't heat. the pipes in the engine bay get nice & hot but doesn't seem to make it to the core. The valve looks to be seized so i'll have to sort that soonish.
  6. So put some new brushes in the starter motor: It seems to work....for now. Then got some brand new radiator hoses & clamps as my ones were looking VERY perished Then this POS arrived with a fucked motor.....busy busy:
  7. No pictures this time. Good news is that It passed its wof 1st time!!! Fuck yeah. Bad news: Starter motor decided to shit its pants in town today & the heater fan decided to stop working too. So tomorrows job is strip the starter motor & see whats gone wrong. Other than that its super nice to drive, goes way better than I expected. Stereo installation is also on the agenda tomorrow. I scored a oldschool suitcase from the recycle centre for $2.90 so I'm planning on hiding some 6x9s & a small sub inside it.
  8. Oh ye of little faith. There's a 3 month minimum on this sort of thing don't you know May be longer though, the wof on the celica is going to run out soon and its going to need some work to get it up to standard. So Hunter goon may be around for a wee while yet.
  9. I live in golden bay so I could also help put if need be.
  10. Quick update, I gave it a polish & removed the weird wheel cover things underneath the hubcaps. WOF day tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will pass.
  11. Alex, you know me, its a keeper until I get bored of it haha. And I saw that wagoon, looks pretty lush. Going to rip into it this week. Get a wof & get some low.
  12. Ok so I got it home. Had a bit of spare time today so gave it a wash, and had a rummage inside. Here's the pics: Just unloaded off the trailer Found these in the glovebox, I love this kind of stuff Its got heaps of sweet period stickers: Interior shot, then i found the rear seat folded up to find heaps of oldschool breakdown gear including the "Plug O Matic" and some sweet period overalls with this logo on them: Any ideas???? Also I started polishing it, its looking good. More pics when I've finished the whole car.
  13. I'm going to attempt to run 13x7.5's with 165-80's so hopefully i don't get any major guard rubbage. and rats, my one is cast iron head i think... from the 5 second look under the bonnet I had this morning. But I may be interested in those blocks & springs once I've fixed everything else
  14. "Compressed" or chopped? haha. I was planning on flipping a leaf in the rear & adding some 2.5" blocks, and chopping the fronts down as much as possible. I've managed to score a complete parts wagon, its rusty as fuck but lots of good bits still.
  15. Lol you usually dont see hunter's modified, so I thought id give it a go. Got it home tonight. Pics to come. Interior is immaculate, a few bits that weren't mentioned in the auction (like the rear brakes are binding like fuck, some minor dents & a spot of rust.) but all in all Im a happy man.
  16. Yeah, picking it up tomorrow, just sussed car trailer and tow vehicle. looking forward to getting it home & getting in on the road.
  17. I just can't help myself! I've been without a British car for too long.

  19. Project Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34606 Been after one of these for a while. Finally won this one on tardme. Also have a complete wagon for spares. I'll be heading to Picton city to pick it up Tuesday. Needs a polish: all in all seems pretty tidy though. Plans are: *sort wof and reg *clean & tidy *Get the standard rims widened 13x7.5...or something like that, paint them cream with polished hubcaps. *Lots of low *Fit sounds & hide them accordingly *roof rack? *drive the shit out of it.
  20. I chopped 1.5 coils from the front & 2 coils from the back. Still captive. Although the front sat about 10mm off the rubber bump stops. I also had air shocks in the back of my one. even with them pumped up the rear springs stayed captive. between fully deflated & inflated i could get a good 3 inches. My one was manual overdrive and I rarely had issues with the cross member scraping. it was mainly the exhaust that would scrape on large speed bumps. And I passed wof's with the cut springs in. I just painted them red & said the were custom made cobra lowering springs. Here's a pic to show the ride height with no air in the air shocks:
  21. Its a trip computer, it talks, it says "your low on gasoline, your lights are on & your door is open" But it talks in japanese.....& yes its a chicks voice. It also tells me how much fuel is left in the tank, how far 1 tank can get me & it has a clock Pretty fucking good for 1981!!
  22. Yes the welding was terrible... I've since got better & re-did the hatch with better welds only for the skim bog to crack. So Ive got to strip it back again!
  23. Ive just been driving and driving this beast, clocking up the ks, so nice, so reliable.... Just gotta make sure I keep up with the oil consumption. Since last update I've done a few cosmetic upgrades, and I've acquired this: Plans are to rebuild & attach a turbo. Nothing too crazy, I just want a bit more get up & go. JAF badge: and extra Jaf badges: Hang ring thing: Dildo: .....Im such a hipster. and "Uncle Limpys Love Palace" Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=32072
