  1. I always thought Trumps & High revs was a bad thing?
  2. Hehe clearly you didn't look inside my green, red, white or caramel trumps. All proudly sporting un-cracked dashboards... Well I cheated on the green one it had a brand new (NOS) dash. It was bought new in Hamilton. Nelson assembled. I haven't actually paid much attention to the boot lid. Ive sort of gotten used to them being slightly bent/curved. My green one was straight from memory. Ahh yes the trademark Trumpy "boing" All of mine have done it. I think its caused by the sub frame moving on the rubber bushes causing the slip joints to bind up. Causing it to kind of hold the sub frame on the piss until the slip joints free up.
  3. Cheers. Internally my one is immaculate, carpet seats, dash all mint. Just the paint has turned to crap. I quite like the faded look on it though so im planning to leave it that way. I'm looking for a pair of air shocks for mine. Its a bit too low at the back. Its not good for the bearings & tyres having all that camber & toe. I've chucked some spring spacers in to raise it up about an inch until I find some air shocks.
  4. Today I did this: However I think its a bit too low at the back. So Ive got some 1 inch spacers to chuck under the springs. I love white walls on dirty steels.
  5. Mine doesn't run on and yes please! O/D box would be the tits.
  6. $1500 for the shuv. It needs nothing now. has wof until December. Not quite 93 I think Mr.Yoeddynz may have added an extra 83 to the actual number. She's a 2.0L fo shizzle.

  8. Haha this thread made me chuckle. The best part of the Welsh sticker is I actually have been to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch on a steam train. It was lush. As for the shuvette its going cheap.
  9. Talk thread: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/39587-sam-and-his-triumph-addiction-car-number-93/ After selling the Hillman wagon I have been hunting for a suitable replacement. I could not believe how expensive oldschool stuff has become. I bought a 1979 Vauxhall Chevette with plans of doing the usual mods. But then this thing popped up & I like it more than the Chevette. A friends father owned it about 5 years ago. After he sold it I didn't see it again. Then it popped up on tardme last week needless to say I was all over it. So here she is: The paint is coozed. Crazy cracked on the roof, bonnet & boot lid. but aside from that its pretty good. 1st job is to replace the stoved in door: Immaculate dash. Not a crack in sight The 2.0L Donk with 1 3/4" SU's without emission control! Thats a big plus. I was happy to see this spin on filter adapter. Bloody expensive from Rimmer bros UK It also came with some other sweet as goodies. Like this lovely blanket...you can see the Chevette lurking in the background. All these books & service logs I especially love this one: H4 semi sealed Conversion so you can actually see at night: And a couple of awesome Old school stickers I'm pretty chuffed with it. An overdrive box & 2.5 motor wouldn't go a miss. I'm planning to try something slightly different (different to what I usually do) with this one.
  10. What KK said. Plus I think It would be a bit gay with gilmer drive. Considering its so stock.
  11. Ah yes good old auto tech. Pretty sure he wont he any help if you go there and hit him up about it.
  12. Reading that would lead you to believe that its all factory & all kosher. You'd certainly expect him to say "Not certified for conversion." there's nothing in there that says its a piston motor body that's been converted.
  13. As above. I Knew he would play the "I never had any troubles" card. Maybe its time you get a little more strong worded. It was advertised as a factory Rotary Turbo Cosmo. Which it is not. And you probably paid good money for that exact reason. Give him a call and suggest he either refund you for the car (I dont like your chances though.) or Pay for certification. Personally I think he knew full well it wasn't legit.
  14. Paid!! I have multiple free seats in the Celica. Probably not much use though as I'm heading from Nelson.
  15. Best of luck. Let us know what he has to say.
  16. I'd go back to the dude you got it off & demand some answers/cash back as he sold it to you as "factory rotary turbo." As said above the plates seem to come back to a 2.0L Piston motor.
  17. Is that the one that was on trademe for a wee while? I like the look of it on those stock wheels TBH.
  18. Some Hippy bought it, then he sold it to some guy in Chch.
  19. That VL was fantastic. Rb30 Manual. As for the P100 a local collector bought it off me. I'll have to swing by & grab some pics of the conversion. Or fire up the old desktop and get them off there. It went like a hooker on crack. So much fun. Here is a couple more starting with the ass of the VL: 2L+T Hilux of smoke. Pride of the USSR Lada Niva And this Immaculate R31. More to come when I find them.
  20. Yea it was a pretty good ride. Personality not so good haha.
  21. Seeing as I've had a large amount of oldschool cars some sweet, some not so sweet. I thought I'd chuck up a selection so you can see how sick I actually am. My first project was this MK1 Escort. I got it when I was 13 & spent nearly every day after school working on it. Had it all repainted. This was the end result: I tried to make it into a kind of Mexico replica. Fitted a 1600 X-flow, quarter bumpers etc. Now the rest are in no particular order, 1st Triumph: Rust-tastic MK2 Escort Van. Ford P100 (South African assembled Sierra Ute) Fitted with a Toyota 1KZ-TE & W55 box MK5 Cortina Wagon & Caramel Triumph 2000 Red Triumph 2500 S (the one that Beaver had after me) 78 Lancer 1.2L Complete with speed ripples 1st White Triumph & triumph Orgy Ratrod spec VL Ex Beaver Avenger With Ex missus haha Trumpy Race car that I ticked up & still paying off. 2.7L PI adjustable suspension, quaif LSD, Full cage.... Oh and road legal Corolla wag MX73 Ex lancer 2nd White Triumph Other MX73 Yea that will do for now.
  22. Looks like my hunter wagon all over again
  23. I finished wire brushing & cleaning the floor. Started hammeriting all the rust. I got quite a bit done most of the underneath stuff, and spots around the cab. Then I Ran out of hammerite. Mitre 10 wanted $50 for a 500ml... dreaming. Only $22 at work. In other news I went and stripped a very rusty 620 ute of a couple bits and bobs. It was so rusty that When i opened the door the whole A pillar came off with the door & fell to the ground. I was so stoked to find an ignition barrel with matching Key! No more screwdriver starting And a early shape grille: Top vs My one: Bottom. It Needs a repaint Bit is in pretty good nick.Might alternate between these. And 1x Hubcap...
