  1. I live just down the road, will be going along for the lolz.
  2. Hey guys. My flatmates '77 Magnum failed a wof on poked rear trailing arm bushes chassis end and he's having some trouble finding replacements. The usual suspects have failed, Supercheap even had the cheek to quote him $160 per side(!) but don't have any anyway. Any suggestions on good places to ask?

  4. The footwell is probably the worst position to have to work in, dread it. Should have taken it in for a WOF at VTNZ with the manual pedal box for lolz.
  5. Best be trolling. Also just noticed it's got a sunroof, sweet.
  6. Holy shit them bumpers. Agree with above, no lame 15*6.5 with balloons shit, needs to be awesome or keep it standard.
  7. Chemically seems like the way to go then. Thanks guys.
  8. Got some baked on gaskets on an intake manifold. Anyone got some suggestions on how to get them off without ruining the aluminum surface? Cheers.
  9. So is this happening on the 13th or is it been left till after 4 and rotors? Whats the starting time?
  10. Very keen, but more so just for a good park up then a local cruise like over the hill as in previous years.
  11. Hey looks nice. You going to put the bolt-ons back on before painting it?
  12. Lol at the pinkie. Oh well, gives you a chance to get everything sorted properly. How did you get done? Great project by the way.
  13. Perfect, just what I needed to know. Thanks.
  14. Ah, it probably was then as the ad stated that the diff was locked and needed a cert. Looks really nice, only thing I would change would be to fix the single wiper "conversion."
  15. Is it normal to primer the entire car when painting? I've always been under the assumption this was the case as a uniform base was needed before colour was applied, but when I mentioned this to a friend of mine who works at a panel shop he laughed it off. After doing some searching it apparently is standard to only primer over repairs needing filler, and just sand back the rest. Is this the proper method or just the cheap and easy method for shops doing insurance jobs?
  16. I think I saw this advertised in NZ Classic Car. Did you replace the diff because it was a locked one?
  17. I was looking at the trademe auction on the weekend, was actually thinking of getting it. Probably best you beat me to it, I've got enough WIP's as it is haha. Love the black interior. Was does it need done to get running?
  18. The car was a sitter for 3 years so I'm not surprised it's jammed wide open, and when I flushed the system there was only water in it, no coolent. Don't know if I've have room for that (or a block of wood that Simon mentioned) but thinking along those lines using an old long ratchet extension with a hammer. Coming out one way or the other lol.
  19. Mines doing the complete opposite, it's way undercooling. The gauge will sit and stay on cold with the exception of when the car is running but not moving (eg traffic). It use to sit around 1/4 but since removing the AC radiator and thus freeing up more airflow for the main radiator the gauge hardly moves now. I believe everything else in the cooling system is fine as if I leave the car idling for long enough the gauge will get to ~1/2 and the fan will kick in. What model is your pulsar BTW?
  20. ca16de, FWD arrangement - hence f all room. That bottom hose in the photo is the power steering, might have to pull that to free up some space. Behind that is the strut tower - lack of room is my limiting factor. The prick who put it in did it wrong, jiggle valve should be on the top, instead it's at 9'oclock. With it turned 90 degrees I would have had some good purchase to bash on. Hopefully the weather is going to be okay-ish tomorrow so will give it another crack...
  21. I'm looking for advice to remove a thermostat thats stuck/jammed in. I've got the housing off but I can't get the thermo out. And (thank you Nissan) it's in a very inaccessible spot so prying it out is difficult. Any tips? This car is my beater so rough as guts methods welcome.
