  1. No plans for an intercooler if I can get away with it, it'll be an absolute nightmare trying to get pipes out the front. Only going to be running around 5-6 psi so shouldn't have any issue. And yes many conversations with ashkellybarr about the right way to set the tb up etc. I have an sr20de water pump pulley on the crank with is a bought 1-1 ratio, this will probably result in too much boost, but I had it on hand, and didn't want to go to the trouble of sourcing a smaller pulley and finding out that in the real world it only made 3psi and the sr20 pulley was the one all along! Engine Is 2000cc efi cross flow, 8v big port head. Compression ratio I can't confirm but I believe between 8.75 and 9.25ish Also note that the passenger is going to get a face full of blower noise due to tb and air filter placement!
  2. So tonight a mate of mine (same one that sold me the motor actually) came around and bought his flash TIG over. weldy weldy i wish i could weld this well. Finished pipe setup including air filter. hopefully it wont suck too much hot air, but a heat sheild may be called for. To say that i am stoked would be the under statement of the century. and its not even finished! i was going to polish the pipes, but upon seeing it all together it would be far too much bling, so my mate and i agreed that wrinkle black on the pipes and blower is the way to go, and how all the old school turbo and supercharger kits were often done.
  3. all good. i managed to pick up those evo1 450cc injectors that had just been cleaned and flowed for a great price. so that should sort me out!
  4. yes defiantly chuck the plugs back in. i used a shop vac with a vacuum hose taped into the nozzle to try and clear out the cylinders before using the starter motor, chucked a rag over the plug holes hit the power and it shot the rag in the air and sprayed oil all over my roof lol. i must have looked funny with a rag on a stick cleaning the roof its sounding good though!
  5. So another problem i had been having is that the car is really too low, i know no such thing right?? am i getting old? probably, but more so i just want to be able to take more than 2 people in the car without smashing the subframe into the ground! so i only need to raise the car by around 20mm, and i dont want to touch the suspension, so that left the wheels as the only option, i didnt want to put taller sidewalls on as that ruined the look of the 13" wheels, so made the decision to sell the 13s and get a set of 14s. the advans are still for sale, and i wasnt going to buy new wheels till they sold. but stumbled upon these in japan that instantly took my fancy. i had in the back of my mind been thinking something 4 spoke like Work Equip 01s, or Riverside R101s which i have a big soft spot for, and then these showed up which ive never seen before and seem to be very rare, the internet suggests they are called Work Pulse 1s. anyway im stoked and cant wait for them to arrive. they will get a repaint in either black, or maybe bronze and a good polish up.
  6. gah! i would have bought though evo1 injectors, flowed and cleaned for 100 bucks was a steal. have requested a relist so will hopefully snap them up. gutted i didnt check oldschool sooner
  7. the 560s might be usable if your willing to sell them off? the only issue im aware of with running too big of an injector is poor idle quality, but what i dont know is when people say too big are the talking about going from ~400 to ~500cc or going for ~400 to ~2000cc for the sake of confusion, my stock injectors are 210cc
  8. yeah i know the history of that car and it wasn't built by the sharpest tool in the shed. ill probably own another one one day, hopefully my copper coloured one cause we tore that down almost to a bareshell and rebuilt it up. its totally rust free and the motor was bone stock on factory boost.
  9. mine made such a great daily. you could almost lane split it like a motorbike with the tiny turbo it would just shoot through any gap you pointed it at. i hope you dont miss it as much as i miss mine!
  10. whats wrong with the engine?? theres not much to them to go wrong! also dosent sound like you have my old engine, maybe mine lives on, it was a GTTi though not the rare GTxx. reg is still live. ive not seen any cruising around chch though?
  11. Alas I would have to wait 3 months to get those gtr injectors, Does anyone have anything suitable? Could also trade the ev6 Bosch 440cc brand new in box green injectors I have? Otherwise I'll just stick them up for sale and hunt out something suitable
  12. yep toyota blower. GTR injectors might be good! a mate just upgraded to 1000ccs and probably still has his. can anyone confirm if they are the same style? unfortunately hes just shipped off to basic training a few days ago....
  13. the box suggests they are used in fords and volvos. the VR4 injectors could be what i need. 500cc+ may be getting a bit too large
  14. the tops will need the same treatment if thats the usual course of action. the electrical plug fits perfectly however.
  15. i have an ev14 (i think) injector in the garage as well actually. ill go take a pic of all 3 for size referencing edit - better as pics
  16. unfortunatly that wouldn't fix the bottom oring diameter size difference
  17. Hi all. So this morning i wiped of my inlet manifold and fuel rail with the intention of quickly swapping the old 210cc injectors from my Toyota 18RGEU for the brand new 440cc injectors i had (i cant remember the exact numbers), in order to support the supercharger thats being installed. i was under the impression that the old injectors were EV1 and the new ones were EV6 which were going to be interchangable. but however the are have difference in orings and lengths. can anyone school me on what i need?
  18. Yup keep topping up the fluid and slowly go more and more. It's sounding promising though
  19. yup what kyteler said, although ill add, its my understanding that the acetone is essensial, as this is what things the oil (the oil is what will free it up) enough to get down into the rusty rings and then evaporates off. as ky said, dont wail on the crank bolt, youll end up stripping the thread and thats not fun, just give it a good go with a whole lot of patience, it should come free. it took me around a week. theirs no exact amount to put down the bores. i just kept it topped up enough that i could see it was above the crown of the piston as in my mind this meant itll be slowly draining though. im not sure why it had to be ATF. MTF may work, but cheep nasty ATF is only like 10 bucks a bottle so i never really thought about it,
  20. as was mentioned but kinda glossed over 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF. the acetone things out the atf and lets it get in all the gaps before evaporating off and leaving the oil behind, used this method over a few days on my frozen up 18rgeu. freed up real nice and now runs mint with great compression. used a breaker bar to unstick it. the starter motor will burn out if you crank it but the motor cant turn. also with the bar you can feel how the engine feels as you slowly rotate it.
  21. Correct they only bolt to one ubolt. The more I look at it the more I think that it's a waste of time.
  22. Is this rear swaybar kit certifiable? its made by ADDCO in the states and is to suit my corona. but im not sure about the legalities of drilling into the chassis rail and fitting a ubolt in there.
  23. thanks chris! ive got a really nice ramair filter here that im hoping to use, but im really not sure if its going to fit. the hood may not even fit without some spacers under the rear! need to shave off and re plumb all that stuff off the top of the blower to find out.
