  1. what about a bellcrank and use a linear potentiometer, might take a bit of searching to get the right stroke and fit Im guessing. no inuendo intended.
  2. I cant help myself, after selling these a couple of years ago, I just bought them back, these were in the old slug that made 200hp at the flywheel and ran a 12.43 before I had some major oiling issues. Long term Im thinking maybe a small capacity destroked screamer. 64 stroke 94 bore 1776 ccs. lots of lift/duration/revs... *insert money into pit here*

    Gear oil

if anyone needs any of that redline shockproof hd. Ive got 3l Ill never use, going cheap...
  4. Bit of work on the shroud And after getting stuff made by others and not being that enthusiastically full of happiness about the result, I bought a cheap ish bead roller and started work on the tin. While not perfect, it's passable and once powder coated should be sweet....
  5. W on the speed rating (270 ks ?). Cant really go any lower at the front, could push it up for that gasser look. Maybe they would look better with the original rears, I just get sick of pumping up slicks so threw the old 215/60/15 M&H semis on those rear rims. Or maybe powder coast the rears in the grey. AT least they are a chev stud pattern so potentially someone would maybe buy them if the suck level wont come down.
  6. after being sure they were the answer, now I think not ... maybe the front tyres ? 155/60/15 - only because 155 15s are so stupidly expensive... Any comments welcome.
  7. Sven from Norway cranked that one out. Itll only get to about 140 ish, unless I magically find 1000 plus horsepowers and some extra skills.
  8. 66 rebuilt speedo, recalibrate to 200 mph. I'm stoked with this thing !
  9. Yeah, after three years the first order of business is 11 s outside the house down past the neighbour's. Then drag strip.
  10. All barred up and exhausted. Home for wiring / plumbing / coating / painting stuff.
  11. Yeah will makes up a mild steel version with a muffler. I need to do a bit of work on the top end too, the Jessel rockers aren't really designed to work in a vertical plane, so not very reliable due to oiling issues, and the springs are k900 triples, potentially way to much nose pressure for the street too. So some valve train work... barring that the only real potential issue would be the lack of handbrake and 3" wide front rims.
  12. Slow progress, but exhaust is now done.
  13. Bit of relay/electrics going on.... slowly catching the monkey
  14. Christmas rush !! Firewall pretty much done Seats completed, looking a bit more industrial which I'm really happy with. Notice the big boy seat and the little scared passenger seat.
  15. Just got this today, mini cam sync sensor. All youll see on the block will be the hex head, so pretty slick !! This is the old can its replacing (front left)
  16. Cage progressing well, should all be done in a couple of weeks.
  17. Decided that this was the only way forward, going backwards. cage is pretty much chopped - seat going towards the rear 5", and losing the funny car cage bit altogether, should be sorted in a week, then forward again...
  18. Had a shroud to use as a template, that and MDF but the bit around the fan was from the original shroud. The plan is for a carbon fibre shroud, then advertise on the interweb and try and defray some costs, unlikely to sell any but will give it a go. Helps to have a boat builder doing all the hard stuff !!
  19. Yep, not quite sure where we will part it yet.
  20. For the record, I did finish the pedals... Except the loud pedal, will work this out when the fan shroud is done and I have some idea of where it will run. Not perfect but good enough
  21. Yeah have that sorted, just getting the fan shroud made up first so we can get the lengths right
  22. yeah Im pretty sure you are right, 1/4 plate 50mm wide... back to the drawing board ... maybe make up a shield and tack the bulkhead to the back of it, or will check with nzdra if a ballistic type blanket is sufficient (seems to be used in the US quite a bit.)
  23. Wasn't happy with the end result with the plumbing, so ended up making a bulkhead to make it tidier and easier to pull the engine out. All oil and fuel lines, and the electrical bulkhead plug run through it. The only potential issue could be if I need to put a scatter shield round the bell housing (thought of this 5 minutes ago). Also been looking at the way all the oil lines are running at the pump and filter, and it looks like I have the wrong remote filter mount, the ins and outs need to be on the opposite side to where they are. And nearly have all the brake and clutch lines sorted barring a few fittings and a metre of brake line. I'm picking it'll be an absolute arse to bleed. For the record -4 Teflon line is an absolute c@*t to make up. Still need to work out go pedal cable attachment etc...
