  2. what do u propose to use to start a cold car then?
  3. hahah well i would if it was mounted properly.. but its quite a shitty design. altho itd work, im not gonna drive while holding the cable out sat the same time
  4. Im going down to welly just after xmas, could get them for you on the weekend then bring them down. You close to johnsonville at all?
  5. Woo found a thermostat at Supercheap Just have to get them to order it in, gonna cost me $8.99 + shipping
  6. You could try Tom Scott of Tas Automotive in auckland. He will probably know or have something. he has heaps of hillman Hunters and imps. (09) 460-0165
  7. Ive been trying to souce the right 1 this week actually lol.. Think i found one for $12
  8. my manifold has 2 inlet ports, then a wall between the other 2.
  9. Im not really against choking half, but id prefer if they all were, just seems like thats the way it was made so its the way it should be done
  10. Mine go into the same manifold aswell..?
  11. Sweet, i think Il split my current one then nd see how that turns out, I'll get a back up cable to be safe lol
  12. Sort of made a second choke today, but I have to hold the second one out lol. Anybody know how to slpit one? Can you just solder the cables together? Would that be strong enough? Or would they need to be welded
  13. Ahaha, Ive looked around for ages asking heaps of people who have had the same carb setup and they dont know where I could get one or anything? I would do that, but knowing me, when i need to get up in the morning and head off, i will forget i need to do it and id just wonder why its barely running
  14. wonder if i could use a couple of cable ties to activate them both at the same time
  15. Lol.. That would work i guess.. but isnt very practical
  16. Ideally I would like to run both, I'll have a look at the setup when pics go up and see. If i cant figure anything out il ring some carb places and see what they reckon
  17. Might give that a try and see how it goes
  18. my dad once used oil on the seal to help with removal and fitting
  19. Most of the time if you can peel the rubber seal out with a screwdriver or something similar, u can remove the seal in tact and then just have a person either side of the screen, one to push it out one to hold it
  20. It runs all good without one, just takes a couple of mins to warm up in the morning. And i siliconed the thermostat housing shut cause it was leaking ages ago. I just need to find the right thermostat.. I think it was an 82 degree one..
  21. Yeah i'd look for vacuum leak first
  22. I need to set my carbs up right first, because before when i had the single, i would give it a tiny bit of choke and it was sweet, go any more and it'd stall. so im gonna do it all properly for the twins this time around
