  1. Hey wasnt i trying to sell you a dope A15 trubro for this when i was drunk? Next time your back in the chang let me know, i'll be keen to see this little beastie
  2. Seen this parked down by mitre10 when at my uncles workshop. looks pretty tidy man.
  3. Yeah no top links placed on it till its set in between the frame rails, but they are shorter and run parallel to the frame rails. the short bits comming forwards(off the lower link bars) are just to provide some weld surface and make a bit of a feature gusset which ties in with the rest of the build. Im just working out the upper link bar frame connections in CAD ready to send off to the profile cutter at the mo. which is proving abit more of a mission that i first thought it would be. In your situation Gaz id be tempted to use the stock spring perch and run the tri-angulation in the opposing direction with some mounts close to the diff head on the axle housing.
  4. As far as the 2 link vs 4 link...4 link all the way. A 2 link is like a trailing arm type set up and has little to no no articulation and your pinion changes as the rear end cycles. You mentioned the Satchell link, this is probably my most favourite 4 link as it keeps the roll centre nice and low and the top arms can be kept fairly short. Im building one at the mo for my latest bagged truck project.
  5. Will see what i can find. But if you have any thing in particular you want to know or see pics off let me know. Have since sold this truck and starting a new one so will see what other pics i can find.
  6. Sorry not really oldschool but here is the build up for my second lexus V8 hilux after the first one i built got stolen from chartwell square in Hamilton This is the first lux i built about a week before it got stolen. So what do you do....Build another one of course. Day 1. On the hoist getting the full service and check over. Removing the Air Con. which didnt work.....note i already had lowered it with 50mm blocks in rear and wound the tonsions down. Removed Canopy and plywood tray liner.....and tinted windows. Even though this was a factory SR5, the standard seats just didnt cut it..... In with the recaro SR2's Testing fitting the wheels we decided the guards would rub.... Simple sollution.....LN130 widebody front clip With new rims on Engine finally let go on my way to Whakatane one weekend, removed engine down there stuck the ute behind the cartune V8 hiace and draged it back to Hamilton where i had prepared the toyota 1UZ-fe. From this To this Sorry cant give away too many secrets there.... On to the extensive full wire up.... Going back together. Completed conversion.... Decided i liked my ute this low but didnt like carrying a spare engine on the back all the time.... So in with the C notch New ride height and no longer bumping on chassis, front is lowered with spindles and torsion bars. As it sits now waiting for the cert plate to arrive..... Still more to come on this ute but for now im happy just to have my V8 ute back. *UPDATE* Factory 4WD Shaved/Styleside Tray Made the trip to Bethells beach in Waitakeri to pic up my new tray, Came complete with pimpin roll bar. So far have striped it back to the bare tray. Will need to cut holes for the notch to come through before i can fit it. After that i will look into getting some of the dents and stuff sorted before the compulsory primer coat. So far i havnt found any rust so not been a bad score. ***UPDATE 12/08/2007**** New grille and rad support pics Saturday morning Stripped front off Comparing Rad supports Origional Rad support removed.....mmmm V8 4 runner rad support lined up and checked for fitment Tacked in place Full welds Primed and going back together Finished....
