  1. For fucks sake why was this left so late in deciding what when and where, totally missed this not happy!!
  2. Yep i will be there after 4 n Rota and will have to pick up the wife and kids on the way there but looking forward to it.
  3. I am bagging my celica and have had my front struts sorted but it can be difficult if you dont have a certain size strut as they do make them for modern cars but they can sort something out to fit. As for the rear four link is the best way to go but really you will have to ask yourself am I willing to spend that sort of money on bagging an escort?
  4. In the end I went to Otahuhu tuning and the old guy there loved my car and did a pretty good job on getting the Gloria all tuned up and it only cost me $79 which I thought was a pretty good deal. He adjusted the points, did the timing checked the vaccuum, adjusted the carbs and of course did the obligitory road test
  5. The car needs to get the timing sorted as it is a little hesitant when I am excellerating and surging a little when at cruising speed. Was idiling high when we put the vaccuum advance on but we adjusted the carbs and got it pretty much sorted but could do with a little more adjustment.
  6. I would say so they look $$$ I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they can do for me. I was really looking for someone more central.
  7. Does anyone know where I can go to get my Gloria tuned in Auckland? Someone who has experience in dealing with older cars. Just had my vaccuum advance put on and I need to get it re-tuned.
  8. Yeh sorry about that Ned, had the misses texting me asking where I was so had to bail.
  9. It was good to catch up with some of the Oldschool members and see some of the rides, now Im no longer a burgerfuel carpark virgin. LOL
  10. YAY!! I have sounds in the car now. I wired up the new back speakers as the ol japanese speakers just werent cutting it. Also got myself a white pen to do the tyres so it looks the part till I get some new rubber from the states.
  11. Yea I was thinking about doing the old paint pen thing as I will be getting some tyres out of the states as getting them here is way to expensive. The thing is that I am running two different sizes, the front is 185/70/14 and the rear is 215/60/14 so I am screwed with tyre choice for the front as they dont make that size in BF's anymore and after my slid in the rain in them I dont think I will go back to them. I was looking at the cooper branded tyre and the firehawks as they both have white letters. If you are thinking of getting some tyres let me know as I can chuck them in with mine and we will save on shipping. I got my tyres for the celica out of the states and for the price of two in NZ I got four from the states.
  12. The car is getting lots of looks as I am driving on the motorway to and from work. Had to laugh tonight as a guy in a taxi next to me was hard out gorking as he drove past.
  13. Thanks, went for the first cruise around the waterfront with the family and got a few looks by yound and old. Had some old guy come up to me and ask what sort of car is that and then he said it was a cool car. The guy was in his 60's so had a chuckle with my wife over that one. My dad was really sad to leave the car and now I can understand, it is a cool car to drive and I have to thank him for all the work he has done on it in the short time he has had it. There is still some stuff to finish which is cool for me as it gives me a chance to do something on her. I had talked to my dad today and there are a couple of things he wasnt happy with and a couple of panels that he said are very slightly different shades so in a couple of years he will fix the stuff that he dosent like and we will paint the Gloria flat metallic silver.
  14. Here you go shes at home now and just had her first wash. All legal now with my cert plate to the right
  15. I will post up some pics tomorrow once the car has a clean.
  16. The Gloria has arrived and I have been for my first cruise in her and was getting heaps of looks as we were driving down the road. My dad has left me some stuff to finish which is good as I wanted to at least do something to the car. Drives really nice and sounds even better.
  17. Yeah I got the white letters on the back but none on the front at the moment but I will be getting some new tyres when the car is back in Auckland. I have to go up a size as they dont make that particular size anymore. I am hoping to have them by the time that I have the car in the 4 and rotary show.
  18. Heres the car completed bad photo as its way to dark My dad is driving down to wellington tomorrow to get the cert plate so I can get the car on saturday. LVTA said that it needs to have the plate before it can be WOF'd and REG'd.
  19. Oops thanks for pointing out the typo all fixed, LOL
  20. Dont worry I will swamp the forum with heaps and heaps of them just for your viewing pleasure.
  21. Getting excited as I get the gloria this weekend. Yay!
  22. Yep thats my baby, My favourite part is when the camera pulls up beside the car, gotta love that stance with the white lettering on the wheels.
  23. The Gloria has gone through certification and only had three things to get done which was change the braided lines as they were non branded lines, tidy up the fuel lines in the engine bay and because the engine has been changed (apparently the engine is from a 240z) I have to have a drive shaft loop in place.
  24. The car has come back from compliance with a very short list. Lvvta cert for seatbelts and other mods, high stop light fitted, adjustment to brakes, bodywork (rust repairs etc) verified and front indicator not working. So happy with that.
  25. So my dad says to me today that everyone who has seen the car in its finished state today says the colour suits the car and of course they are all asking what car it is. So we will just have to see what she looks like when I see her in the flesh.
