  1. thanks for that. All Future ideas. I enjoy carting people around ( usually ) so it might be a nice addition in the back considering I have no seatbelts
  2. does anyone know how to achieve this? any actual information?
  3. so future plans will be : save for the next ten weeks ( this is roughly until the next tech holidays ), during that time it is on trademe for a ridiculous amount of money. If it sells I will be stoked with profit, if it doesn't sell I will be stoked to keep the car. After that time, It will be time.
  4. yea I won't bother mucking around with different gearboxes. anglegrinder FTW
  5. oh ok. So will have to make sure that it is RWD and carby. This is going to be a cool project for next holidays
  6. awsome thanks for that advice. Do you know if all 80's sigma's are carburated?
  7. Looking real good. Will be awsome to see and hear when it's all done. Are you going to leave the engine in the position it is with the pajero mounts?
  8. wow that above post from me had some messed up quoting. I guess in the long run that would be a much better upgrade then. With that then it seems I will need to following : Sigma Xmember Sigma 4G63 at the same time I suppose I can get the Gearbox and 'Box Xmember?? What about exhaust manifolds. Will the Sigma's work?
  9. [quote name="fuel" You can drop in a 4G37 easy' date=' may have to fit the 4G36 flywheel and clutch to fit in the existing gearbox bellhousing but they have the same crank bolt pattern so no sweat - then find a RWD 4G32 belt driven inlet manifold (EX Lancer, Sigma GL) and use that.[/quote] If the Engine that I'm getting has an inlet manifold will that be sweet? or will I still need an EX 4G32 manifold? What about the exhaust manifolds, are they the same? is that true? I thought that they all came with some sort of EFI system?
  10. yes thats correct. It would make sense for the 37 ports to be larger than the 36, however they might bolt up?? well the 36 is just too slow all 1200cc of grunt just doesn't cut it. And at the moment I don't want to know a thing about ECI let alone anything else electronic, as my 7 is up to this stage and it's annoying the shit out of me. That leaves only 1 decently sized engine left : the 37. If that makes sense?
  11. I've read the old mitsi engine conversion thread and there is nothing on the 4g37 in there. will this be true aswell for the 4g36? Would it just bolt in using the manifold that i have at the moment? What about the gearbox? will it bolt up to the 4 speed? Thanks for any help Dave
  12. well I've Had the car for over a year now, probably time to do a thread on it. Havn't done anything to it except for change the timing belt It's in real mint original trim, only known mod to it is the aftermarket tape player with matching 6" speakers in tray. Photo time: Trademe photo's of when I got it: and photo's I took today after I did a super clean on it: future plans are to transplant either a 4g37 or 4g63 DOHC in there. I saw a lancer a while back with a silvia subframe init, so that got me thinking of the idea of also changing the suspension for that of an evo or something?? but who knows, that will most likely be a few years down the track.
  13. wow I hope that you get this done - will be the man at welding afterwards
  14. saw it the other day, looked real good, the lavender is also a real good colour for the car IMO.
