I'm assuming it's an xr6 turbo so you'll be fine

Carjam report is a cheapish check for theft/money
Obd Scan for any faults
Mechanic/inspection service for anything deeper than visual (if you believe they'll do anything more than you can do)

Whats your oil volume gunna be now, ballpark? Any starvation concerns?

But you should obviously convert 86 to fwd, should be able to get a c60/160 attached to engine via some bellhousing lego

I seem to remember someone did a rwd e motor in a kp years back on here
-
And only 74mm bore so pistons should be light

oh yeah wouldnt be with factory ecu i wouldnt think, too many protections/interfaces with the body id have thought
didnt think of the cams from 2GR, but regardless seems like some voodoo controls from a non factory ecu (with enough outputs) needed

Romandayf I was pondering direct injection as I cant get 1urfse/2urfse's out of my head, what is the main reason you abandon the DI? Cos its a bitch or?
Some very light reading suggests benefits mixture (efficiency and power) and Im sure something talked about charge cooling too, or is there really a need to run both DI and port injection that Im missing and so becomes a big faff?
Or is the main reason for looking at these toyota DI n/a engines because they typically have the higher compression as a starting point

pistons supposed to be reasonable, some internet experts rate the standard fg xr6t piston over the FPV F6 semi forged one for bigger power over stock (although its heavier, i cant recall if this was just FG or same for BA/BF). Aftermarket forged obv get to even bigger power. cant recall what the internet says stock rods are good for but i thought so long as not mk1 BA xr6t small rods then unlikely to turn to bananas until seeing much more power than stock, didnt think rods were any more limiting than pistons but maybe they are??? i guess all depends on budget and goal for power/skids for the kids

pining this one on TM, would be good if could fit a sheet in with canopy on but might be a bit ambitious

hmm go on, extra cab? wellside or flatdeck?

OT but I'm keen to see some 1ur engine swaps given the @Roman treatment, 12:1 cr with 2gr geometry should be good for some spice in a lighter car

I went down the rabbit hole on them once and they are an aisin AY6 (as opposed to an AZ6/J160)
They are the same box as in a manwel VE SV6 if anyones driven that to compare, its apparently supposed to handle a reasonable amount of torque. I dont understand fully yet but it says it handles more torque through a different input/output shaft configuration which means it spins the gears faster, so I am guessing might be happy on a lower revving torquey motor but might not like higher rpm situations - speculation only.

for a 4 post id be less worried about concrete depth, youre spreading the car load over 4 contact patches just like the tyres, doubt the concrete will notice. Tipping forces less of a worry on 4 post too so pull out (giggity) not such a worry
