  1. could be as easy as swapping the bellhousing over to one that will suit a fe3 engine

    3y + sc14?

Yeah a 3y is a slug but I would like to improve on its lack of performance to atleast some performance. I would go with an engine conversion but its my daily driver so taking it off the road for any length of time isn't an option. Have access to a well equipped to make s/c brackets and whatnot

    3y + sc14?

I know there near bulletproof as it is and they have a low comp ratio but would boost be a good idea? Was thinking a sc14 with 3y injection gear from a surf and a megasquirt to run it. Would be going into the hilux with the s/c running off a switch, will the intake happily draw through the s/c while its not running or adapt the bypass valve that comes with most sc14 to be open while the s/c isnt switched on?
  4. The early shaped Kia Sportage have a Capella Fe3 engine thats been spun round by Kia to run rwd. Wheres Fred? hes the master of the FE3
  5. yeah the colour is primo, I like the reflex's they were cheap and a bit oldschool, long term some 16x8ish BBS mesh and a healthy dose of strech and slam would be nice

  7. Longtime no update Took off the canopy which was a heavy lump and fitted a old battery box from work for tools etc, just need to figure a more permanent way of holding it to the tray. Special thanks to Corbie for pickup and delivery of my new mags Fitted them up a couple of days ago so I thinks some pics are in order Discovered the rear end runs air shocks which is a bonus. The 3y is slow and reliable except for a thirst for a little oil, with the price of diesel now I have been put off the the idea of a 1KZ so saving for a 3RZ-FE to fill the engine bay. Needs more slam so saving for drop spindles and new tyres to get some stretch under the guards. Also looking for a front lip to bung on there and a mesh visor for the windscreen
  8. Not fussed, curry at the heads sounds good and standstill skid pad makes me smile.
  9. mean just down the road from where im staying, will be there having a nosey
  10. Sweet could meet you somewhere along the way for pickup are you coming up SH1?
  11. could be a go If you can pickup from upper hutt?
  12. Anyone comming to the Bay in the near future. Im going to be in wellington for 2 weeks from sunday and keen for some 17x8s with tyres that are cheap. I will organise pickup and payment locally while im down there but need transport home for them as Im flying home so sadly can fit them in the overhead. Payment of choice will happily be supplied
  13. Yea would be great cheers, could you measure the base at the widest point too?
  14. I mean the backrest. Im trying to find factory seats to retrofit but most cars have the rails base and backrest all tied into eachother
  15. The factory seats in my van are uncomfortable and lack side support so iv been looking for seats to replace them, been to pickapart and had a look at my options, problem is most cars have the rails and base attached to the upright part of the seat, where as the vans seats are a complete unit with just rails that bolt to the base. Hard to explain so got some pics. The bolt holes on the van seats are 635mm apart. Anybody know of a car with nice seats with a similar mounting setup
  16. Discussion thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/28143-os-triumphs-ute-of-grandad-greatness/?p=717190 Just picked this up today and drove it home from Auckland New Zealand new 1986 Sr5 Extra Cab, im only the 3rd owner and it was originally from the south island. Its mint, no rust and still has original manual and sales info Powered by a 3y with 186000kms on it, runs like a dream(was expecting it to be a gutless piece) Plans are roll it as a daily and start saving for a 1kz-te or a 1kd-ftv to drop in it. Was thinking of converting it to EFI until that happens, anyone got a a 3y injection setup lying round?
  17. Cheers guys, guess there goes that idea Could a 4wd R series box be modified to run 2wd only similar to whats done with a nissan gtr gearbox?
  18. Cheers for the speedy reply, wanting to run a 1kzte in a 2wd hilux
