  1. I have customers who have done shit tons of k's on KTMs and had no trouble at all, and then others who have endless trouble, so it seems to be luck of the draw. I loved riding my 640SM, but the electrical problem that me and the previous owner couldn't sort, drove me nuts, SUCH AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER.
  2. It will be hard to identify "the man who touched me on the penis" after spending a few nights around the foamers.
  3. I want to attempt this with NBC's at some point, NBC220 V-twin, zeow! Waiting for him to show how he widened the casing, I assume he moves the mag/stator side over and leaves the clutches etc alone?
  4. Yeh nah the motor didn't like the breathers going into the plenum, which is odd, because that seems to be how they are on the bike? I've run the breather tube high up the roll cage, to try keep it out of the smut, will do some research and try find a solution. Anyways, the deck of the trailer is pretty much done, so got some goodies to carry on with, My original plans went out the window, it is going to be sprung now, and I'll have little fold up ramps rather than a tilting deck. Made the spring hangers today, clamped the shit out of them to avoid warping, The deck is made from 40mm wide RHS, and the spring components are 50mm wide, so welded them to 50x5 angle, which will get welded to the deck. Should strengthen it up a bit too. Hope to get the draw bar on next week, and then figure out the axle width and location. Regards, VG.
  5. Why thank you sir. The panels do stop a fair bit of sand getting into your undies. And no, i've not really checked it for bump steer. I think my bro in law worked it all out, but I couldn't understand his workings/instructions and just welded the knuckles on in the spot where everything seemed the least shit/cleared everything. When I redo the front suspension for the braked hubs, i'll try copy the Barracuda front end as best I can, as I have the plans, and they worked all that shit out.
  6. So Yeh nah, the norgren air filter things didn't work. I took it for a blast on the beach, was probably like 10km away from my car, and it lost all power. The little filter things had got saturated with gas and stopped breathing. Luckily an easy fix, I just cut them off and it ran sweet again. So I thought I'd give plumbing them into the air box a try. I've welded a nipple on the very bottom of the plenum to connect too, this will also act as a drain if a float sticks and floods the plenum again. I also replaced the restricor tape with a bit of flat bar. I also did a dodgy patch on the exhaust, and put some flat bar over it to protect it a bit, as it's the lowest point. I also started building a simple trailer for transporting this thing. It's not going to have springs, and will have a hinged draw bar so it can tilt, so I don't have to have ramps. Regards, VG.
  7. The wife commissioned me to build a swing for the child. I started pre lock down, so had all the steel/chain/shackles/hose already. I didn't get paint, so it ended up silver, as that's all I had. Made the baby spec seat out of some rubber I had laying about, and the adult side is made out of old conveyor belt. I had to make it in three bits so I could get it out of the shed/into the back yard. I've also assembled a hut the father in law made, and reconditioned a see-saw the wife had as a kid. Next up is reconditioning/modifying the old slide (also wife's) in the background.
  8. It's now 2020, is this thing still around?
  9. Yoza, I'm hoping to come ride with ya'll for at least one day, prolly the first.
  10. @cletus do newly built trailers have to have springs? I was planning on going springless on my offroader trailer, but some old Barry I was yarning too told me you're not able to these days? XOXOX
  11. That's a good point, now i'm old and have responsibilities I can pretty much only do Tuesdays, lols.
  12. IF you can get more TGA people than WHK people to come, i'm sure some of us might come over again?
  13. In reply to your text, for the life of me, I cant remember what I did to get mine to work sorry. It wont light the std headlight at idle, but comes on when you give it a bit of a rev. The stator is friggen tiny in the 155z, so guess it just cant pump out the juice at idle?
  14. Due to it not running well last outing, I whipped the carbs off, and they were full of sand. Turns out the drain/vent tubes on the carbs must be able to suck? I assume on the motorbike they went to the air box? I think I'll put some pneumatic spec air filter/exhaust/silencer things on there, just to keep shit out. Like this, After cleaning the carbs it was running tumeke again. We took it up to some paddocks in the whops and had a hoon. At the end of the day I drove it back out to the main road (about a 10 min drive at 90kmh) to see what it's like as a daily. Its doing about 7g rpms at 90, which is quite loud, and also my whole left leg went numb/dead, and I couldn't feel the clutch pedal, so not great as a daily. The only issue we had was bashing a bit of a hole in the exhaust (lowest point) which will be an easy fix. Usual shitty vid:
  15. So a while back I gots ta painting, Then I gots ta putting it back together again. I then gots ta making up new front and side panels for it, out of 2mm alloy sheet, That shit came out OK. But then I had to make a bit to fill in the gap behind the dash (as the frame is now longer, and the steering wheel is mounted above rather than below the steering shaft mount bar thing. Did some CAD. Then made a thing. Then decided I would have a crack at welding it on. I've never TIG'd alloy before, but how hard can it be? All my test runs were lovely, but fuck me wrong with a rubber goose, every time I tried to weld the hood, everything would go wrong. It near on drove me insane, but I got there in the end, kinda. I still need to make the under tray, and weld in something to protect the headers, as they are the lowest point, but its bloody close to done. Me and a couple of mates took it out today, on some fast gravel roads, and scared the bejesus out of ourselves. It really needs front brakes though, because it takes a fucking long time to stop on gravel. Its like trying to stop with only a handbrake. It went really well, apart from one or more of the carbs being a bit of a cock, causing the plenum to fill up with gas and flood the engine. Luckily @keltik had a rag and little girly hands, so kindly mopped up the lake of gas through the intake. It was running really rich, which caused it to have a two-stroke like power-band, which made things even more exciting. But yeh, apart from that and a few very minor issues, it went quite well.
  16. This was one of the churest bikes on the trip I reckon. I was right behind you when it decided it wanted to lie down and swing some O's by itself, lols.
