  1. Sweet so one of the igniters doesn't go and the other one happily switches both coils after I moved the black/yellow wire over to the other plug. Now I just need to make sure the two wires to the primary could are around the right way so firing order is correct? Then need to get longer screws to accomodate the new coil
  2. Ahh you the man jezza!! I couldn't find that info anywhere!
  3. Yeah it was the black and yellow one that worked. Will take a closer look at it in the weekend. In related news, a new pair of coils arrived from china today!
  4. yeah it's really weird. I guess at some stage someone's added on a second set of connectors, Don't know to what purpose though?
  5. Is there a way to read which colour wires go into which hole on the 2x2 din connectors at the ignitor? (top right)
  6. Started the tank cleaning process, just used marine clean so far with a chain in the tank. Rinsed out several times, even reheated the cleaner on the stove to reuse it. Man that stuff is caustic, my gloves broke and I'm regretting not replacing them. Hands now have cancer. Should I try to get more of that rusty scale off before I start with the metal ready? Stripped back the rear half of the bike to repaint the frame under years of battery acid leakage. Took me way too long to get the tail piece off. No more acid drippage with this little beauty
  7. Yup I'm waiting till I have a whole day free. Should be well worth it though.so much rusty gunk in the tank, and apparently these bikes are known for getting silt stuck in the carbs.
  8. Bought one of these the other day...
  9. Can't wait for summer hoooons Joe! Tonight I disassembled some stuff. Emptied all the lumpy brown coloured sludge that once was petrol from the tank. Might buy a tank sealing kit and see how that goes. Removed various brackets to get cleaned up, such as the battery bracket which was heinously rusty as they always seem to be. Was gonna start testing coils and what not but can't find my multimeter anywhere. Hopefully it will magically turn up tomorrow.
  10. ^ Yes, and yes. but need to get it running first. From what treggo was describing I reckon it's the coil(s) that are stuffed, or just full of moistness. Really keen to get riding! Should probably go do my learners test and buy a helmet first.
  11. Oh yup so I own this now...
  12. That would be rad grinta! Will be nice and cool by then too. Fuck working in this sun
  13. Success! i hadn't undone the bell housing bolts, but after I did everything flopped around a lot more. Flywheel looks pretty good, clutch plate not worn to the rivets, so might just flag machining and just scuff it up a bit. Now off to the shops to get a rear seal plus other assorted goodies. Am seriously doubting that I can get this back in the hole on my own - could anyone spare an hour or so later today to help hiff this thing together?
  14. Got the rear most stud out and got the other one to jiggle, but fucked if I can wrangle this mount out of there. Getting a little late now so will try again with fresh eyes tomorrow.
  15. Yeah just got a bit confused when you mentioned punching it out cause mine slid out with no force needed. But yeah I was stuck on actually getting the loose mount out but will see if I can jack up the gbox enough to clear. CheersEdit- sorry re read your post, I see what you're saying now. Will try that.
  16. Could you elaborate on this pls? This mount is where I'm stuck on currently.
  17. Clutch is totally faaaarkd in the Corolla. Need some help putting in the new one. I assume a fwd Corolla is an engine out jobbie so I would require use of a crane/winch as well. Can supply hugs and kisses and beverages. Let's do this, friends!
