  1. looks like your doin a good job . got a pic of the whole thing? amazin some shit people cover up with more shit just to get a wof .
  2. do you want to tell us if theyre hooked up right and shed a bit more light on things?
  3. if thats the case it doesnt look like the leads go to the right points on the dizzy. hook it up the way the picture shows. looks like it is right since the firing orders 1342
  4. is it the same as this off the dizzy? think 3 & 4 are round the wrong way is this the engine here?
  5. not a few teeth out on the cambelt or something stupid?
  6. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Toyota/Engines/auction-339958329.htm just a thought
  7. just another thought, if you wantesd to run things under vacuum you could tee in to your intake pipe between ya filter and supercharger, if you have one and run things from there, using catch cans so the blowby oil doesnt go through ya supercharger/intake manifold.
  8. vent your crankcase breather to a catch can as well, since you run boost at idle and never run at vacuum your pcv valve would never open, so your crankcase pressure will never be relieved and go through the head like it seems to now, which maybe the problem you have at the moment if their is already a pcv valve in it. maybe someone else that has supercharger could point you in the right direction with their set up?

    escort oil

you could try something like valvoline vr1 10 40, not a synthetic and still has zddp in it which old engines need, but still a high perfomance engine oil. i use it in my ca18det and it has made world of difference in it.
  10. hose 12261 is most likely your breather from the crankcase. click on this link for more useful help. http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=1139
  11. yep, doin this is now a necessity as 4psi WILL pressurise ya crankcase. take it you havent got a workshop manual from the net or googling it? had a quick search but couldn find anything. will keep hunting, this problem has my interest
  12. put the head breather on a catch can, and a pcv valve on the one between your manifold to the block, your blocks gotta breathe. got a boost gauge hooked to see what your vacuum is upto or fluctuating, or if ya supercharger is boostin when revved off idle? not an expert on these but maybe someone else can help. gettin it to run on 4 cylinders would be a bonus. is this the cause to the problems?
  13. it should standard i think, but since its supercahrged it should have pcv valve on it so you dont pressurise the head under boost. catch can should be fine then. is the crankcase breather under the inlet manifold to the manifold? hows ya super charger hooked up? does it boost all the time? if your crankcase breather goes straight to the inlet manifold with no pcv valve this will pressurse your bottom end on boost and possibly make it have a smoke stack out your top end. just ideas/ramblings
  14. is that steam or smoke coming out? reminds me of the kingston flyer. does that usually go to the intake manifold through a pcv valve or something? is the crankcase breathing?
  15. congrats on all the hard work coming together another inch lower in the front, your crazy are you gonna be makin the exhaust yourself? you mite be needin some oval pipe
  16. is this going to be your one and only post?
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Ford/Engines/auction-331848580.htm how bout one of these bump sticks. slightly better than the gt grind and not to aggressive. cheap to.
  18. austin princess calipers used a 22mm bore if that helps which is a bit more than 5/8. pedal ratio may also play some part maybe?
  19. sounds like the wrong size m/cylinder. thats what mine was doin before i put the 1" bore on. the pedal was working like a hydraulic pump before hand, lots of pumpin gave firm pedal but once you left it the fluid went back to the reservoir and back to square one.
  20. great effort. youve been busy. just one thing before you go for a drive, are those tyres rolling in the right direction?
  21. yep, but you have to ad on import duties and a 1" bore master cylinder, so would probably work out cheaper just to get a pbr kit from here.
  22. if you wanna run a catch can like my wee one (soon to be replaced) you can put a divider in the middle of oi and baffle it with something like steel gauze/ wool or something to work as a filter but not do tight that it impeads flow. just learning that ca18s nmore often than not need vacuum on the inlet side to reduce crankcase pressure as they are quite heavy breathers, the age of the engine probably doesnt help me either, ill be changing my setup to something more substantial in the near future.
  23. will do. hopefully the turbo was just a stuck pcv valve, otherwise the smoke signals will give away my location.
  24. cheers fellas. brakes are from oz. pbr does them, they have an ad in the petrol head mag for them. didnt know there was an open dy this weekend, might go for a look, will see how i get on though. also might have blown the turbo seals still makin them
