  1. 3.08 rear end is so slow but it's got some legs on the open road, 2500rpm 128km/h... Note to self find more torque SFXD287r8ww
  2. I got some vids and will do something with them later plus pbdrc took some as well
  3. Ahh yep I ran a 14.8 and was getting axle tramp so didn't hammer it too much, spoke to a mate and reckons the bushes may be worn
  4. Now as I am about having a bit of grunt under the right foot the first thing I am going to do is increase the HP then look at the other things. Factory they had 165kW and this one I am told has around 192kW but I want around 265kW so have a bit of work to do. I took it to the drags today and finished with a 14.887@92.16mph, 60ft 2.210, 1/8 9.512 I have some way to go but am chasing similar performance to my old 202 LC Torana.
  5. Good to meet Camo and I had an interesting time. I can feel the extra weight compared to my old Torana and traction was an issue until the Track-bite came out and then I was getting axle tramp. I have room for some improvement but pretty happy.
  6. Last of the season starts around 11am $10 for spectators and $35 for street cars... I am taking my new ride, 94 Holden SS to try it before I pull it apart and enhance it. I reckon if it can do a mid 15 then its doing well as it has less power than my old 202 Torana. I eventually want it to run 12's but I have a bit of work to do.
  7. Thanks Testament, I have sent Kalmaker an email to see what they can offer. I like the way Kalmaker can make use of the Power/Economy button but I may have to rename it Power/Goodbye Tires if I got my way. I really need to learn how to use something like this so next I will need someone to help an old fella. I had a chat to Harman but they cant actually reprogram my car, they Dyno and then send the ecu to Auckland to get reprogrammed. Maybe time to talk to NZEFI or one of the others around town.
  8. Cheers, I do have a Delco but not sure how to go about using the information, it must be time I got up with the times I think. I am aiming for over 400hp but would settle for anything above 350, maybe I need to talk to some tuning people as the heads will be capable of this but it will be a work-in-progress daily driver. It currently has around 250hp/190kW I want to use it as a club car/DYO drags/daily driver until the chevette is ready.
  9. Ok I was told there is a crack and a program available online somewhere which can allow me to remap the Holden ECU? Can anyone help or give me some advice as I am aiming for a mild 400 gee gees but am told the heads I am planning on using are capable of an easy 500.

    E34 BMW

This car is for sale. Someone will get a good car. I have bought a new road project and this has to go to help pay for some upgrades, I have driven this daily and really enjoyed it, quiet powerful and comfortable. I bought this the day after the February earthquake. Chassis and Engine BF00004 matching, it's a HD12 model and comes with high specs, New Zealand new 5-speed with non cat (empty cat) from the factory which gave the NZ new cars even more power than the imports. LSD standard and everything is quiet, these NZ new cars came with the M badge from new and were highly regarded. Less than 5000 manual 5 series made in the world. I took this to the drags one day and went down the 1/4 in this in 15.5 with a dizzy cap missing the carbon center, I have since replaced it and immediately felt the difference. This thing is very cruiser friendly and tidy for its age. Just had a wheel alignment at Bridgestone Blenheim Road recently and drives very nice.
  11. Mate I never feel like a prick..... only a cunt sometimes when i cant ride my car....
  12. Yep I sold it... I honestly didn't think I could part with it. I need to get the Chevette finished even quicker now
  13. My Torana drove out the driveway with its new owner for the last time today. I warned him to take it easy until he gets used to it and don't get caught. I am now shopping for a replacement and then I will sell my NZ new 5-speed E34 BMW although the 5.4 litre V12BMW engine into it would look good in it.... na i can't its got to go
  14. Heres a sample of the 270+ pics I took and I will compile a video tonight.. Sorry for any double ups
  15. Yep DYO for anything 10.9+ I believe, so any street car has a chance. Helmet, long sleeves and pants and footwear etc WOF, Rego is needed for insurance cover Radiator over flow must be blocked or flow into a bottle with no out flow Absolutely basic regulations, the fields aren't usually huge so expect to run all day, if you get knocked out of the competition then just ask where to line up and you carry on grudge racing.
  16. Entry - $10.00 per person entering the venue Gates open for racer 8:30am and spectators 9:30am Racing starts with qualifying around 11:00am All classes racing but Hot Rods and Musclecars compete in Kevin McInroe Memorial trophy. Racing Street cars, race what you bring is just $35.00 for the day. Prize giving will be at the Yaldhurst Hotel (The Yaldy) after the meeting
  17. Yea no prebooking needed and $35 is a cheap day of fun. It actually might be $45 as its $20 gate and $25 to race The club have offered the burnout pad but we don't seem to get may takers but I'm pretty sure if a 3-4 wanted to they would accommodate

  19. What can ya say about a field of F5000's this big??? I didn't know we had that many in NZ! The XU-1 is up against some tuff cars in the fast saloons but he should be able handle most of the field. The TVR and 1 of the Porsches must be the favourites at a guess and maybe the Mathers Mustang, Camaro and GTHO if the brakes and temp hold out. So looking forward to a big weekend and heaps of pics and videos
