    Oil Coolers

    yeh mate if you racing it full tit and running it at high temps then get a big cooler. but engines that dont have a cooler still run well so ive found in the past the best way is to get a small cooler (as its better then none) mount it at the front and it will work nicly i had mine in the gaurd and had a fan of a old computer pulling the air threw and it was sweet . but waht these guys are saying i agree 100% realy cold is just as bad as realy hot. dan

    Cooling BS

    if you get a electric fan just make sure its one that pulls air threw if not just swap it to the other side of the rad. if got a vl commodore and the cooling on them are shit so i put a 12" fan on took the old one off but had to leave the base and belt as it turns the water pump (just check if your does befor you move any belts) i first had the fan pushing air threw but when your driveing it was hitting the air head onand didnt cool that well so i tunred it around and it nevers goes above 1/4 of the way sitting in traffic flick it on and it stays so cool and then when your off driving turn it off as it will coolitself with the air flowing threw it. hope that helps. dan

  10. yeh yours has had a wee bit of firewall work and tunnel work . have you thought of a bigger motor or are you going to mount the ca18 behind the front struts .would handle so well that way mate. ive worked out that at the most ill have 1 cylinder infron of the struts not bad for a 6 i supose.

  12. hahaha i havnt even started my mk1 yet and im on the look out for a mk2 2door for my next project. im sticking with the rb30 as the size is perfect the rb25 head is just to wide with the rb30 i can get make a nice tubs manifold cos of the extra space and no mater how you look at it its a rb30 turbo in a mk1 escort.
  13. im wanting to build it for some all round fun somthing i can drive to work if i want. drag race,sprints,some hot lap fun just everything realy thought of so meny cars but if i was going to build a car from scratch again it had to be another mighty mk1 and i decided to stick to the rb30 turbo aswell and use the vl front and rear to make it wider so its not so snappy i just can wait to see loads of bubble arched escort driveing around .
  14. i need them wider if i could find them may just use the 16s for wets and get some with 17s for slicks im aming for a round 500 hp so i want some grip well not all the time lol

  16. yeh he does mate i picked my gaurds up last week and the weigh less then the rusted half cut up origanl guard and they heve the bubble already on. and the rears i got mate are so fuking wide so they should just get over the tyres.
  17. hay gaz i see your looking at the guards with bubbles on trade me thats the guy that has just made mine and they are nice mate. and the bumpers he does are good aswell front and back.

  19. ive just had a look at palmsides catalog and heres the following prices club 4 link kit $745 h/duty 4 link kit $895 square turrets $175 pr strut barce $150 anti dive kit $225 full tunnel kit $285 now im pretty sure these dont include tax but its not bad prices and they are in chch hope this helps dan
  20. just make sure with this guy mate as the last time he was selling them i asked him the same thing and it was an extra $700 + for the bars and rose joints on top of the kit on trade me. and the 1 frrom the uk dosent have the turrets but you can get them from palmside here in chch for $175 a set.

  23. its not bad mate but i asked them about the link bars and rubbers and they are a extra cost all you get with this is the boxs. palmside do a full kit for just under $1000 without turrets but they are only $175 for a pair or make your own. then i started looking t the uk (gary from retromotor sport hasnt got back to me yet) but rall design will do a full 4 link with boxs and bars all the shit you need landed in nz for around $600 and thats the option im going for. cheers dan

  25. if it does mate its not hard to put abigger diff tunnel in. i think i will as ive gut a vl diff but then a agin im 4 liking mine so i may just cut the rear floor out and make my own.
