  1. started playing with the factory bmw idle air control system today .. so i flipped the ITBs upside down to make life easier to work on. (normally in the bmw they would have run this way but i wanted them all on the underside to keep it cleaner) and grabbed the factory bar for the idle air control and cut it up as the ITBs have been made to match the xflow inlets. i also removed a few things not needed and just keep the factory inlet.....and i swapped the ends over to keep it cleaner. i had some stainless that was the same size diameter as the inside of the rail so perfect.....cut them up and slid them into the tubes as far as i can for strength flipped it back to where it should be and its perfect ...just need to weld them up.
  2. I also have a shitload more room than you sorry.....but I did remove more car to fit them.in haha
  3. Yeah......that's also interesting. Because if you want trumpets for bmw ITBs ... I found them to be around $1500-$5000.Lol. Still looking at having ago at alloy spinning... but for now I went pod filter adapters.and will cut them up to fit....and make them into 1 bit
  4. I have wondered that with cast parts ...if it was well heated 1st would if burn most of the oil and crap off
  5. Awesome work mate. Almost makes me want to go and work on mine.........almost

  10. Jon didn't have the little mind long.....sat in the garage for agers. (Lovely wee car) And strange enough had the same advise for him.......rotary lol
  11. I just bought a 2nd hand factory bmw 1 ( that was used on the same engine I got the ITBs from.). Landed was 28 bucks. Will just have to cut and shut the pipe work.
  12. Also if you found some nice alloy box section the same size as the inlet on the Mazda ...then you could probably lobsterback cuts for a nice tight bend.
  13. Perfect... That's all I did .Im using the falcon xf fuel injector sandwich plate with injectors and fail. And then I'll try and get the factory IACV to work and may plug and tap the bmw injector holes for nitrous lol
  14. Reshape bonnet.. Or cut hole and use clear platic for awesome wank factor
  15. hay man regarding the ITBs ..cant make them fit this way?
  16. I feel ya. Even.my ruler is wrong dimensions. And my milling machine is the same grinder I use to cut things up with. Lol
  17. Must admit one if my favorite videos on YouTube is your car @yoeddynz with Matt Farrar on smokimg tyre.
  18. That's why most of us are on old-school. We all have that in common lol
  19. That's the idea mate. Will.work well. I have looked into all.manner of rear setup in the past. Even 6 linked my van with turrets for upright coil overs. And then you look at tarmac rally cars and some of the best cats in the day ran 140lb single leaf spring with adjustable failover shock and a whatts link.. It can be very easy to over complicate a simple setup. ( as I type that I realise I still do that lol) could have just slapped the falcon motor in my mk3 and been done with it..........but nah. Make more work for myself haha)
  20. The wagons and the vans are worse for tramping than the sedans.. anti tramp bars have been used for years in old school cars and are very simple design.( just to stop the twist of the leaf spring). There are a few different ways to go but it can be done 8n a very simple way.. all I did with mine was use the bottom bracket that the u bolts go threw and the shock mounts to. I welder 40x40 box section to that that was on a slight uphill to the leaf spring mount.( think it stopped about 50mm from it) and I screwed a rubber door stop to that. (With about 10mm between it and the spring) Just so under load it slapped against the spring and stopped the twist. Worked perfectly and it's amazing the difference.
