  1. I was thinking clutch not disengaging - symptomatic of a bad slave cylinder
  2. Same wheels as on my S12: Enkei right? Mine are a bit cleaner though
  3. Yeah I'd care less about teh price etc were it not my first day of course in Auckland and I wasn't so damn broke.... Nevermind, maybe next time
  4. $50!!!!?????????!!!!!!!!!??!?!?! Fuck it I might have to buy a cheap bottle o' wine and hang around outside like a wino. Getting fully raped by IRD at the mo - have just over $200 of my wages left each week once they finish fuckin me.... Might give it a miss then. Besides have course at 8am the next morning. WHy'd the devil pick a tuesday for fucks sakes?
  5. One of you cunts should give me ride Flying up = no car Have course at 8am next morning too what a bastard..........
  6. Does your car share the hydraulic system between brakes and clutch?
  7. Have you taken current readings off the alternator? A clamp meter is the easiest way to do this because other wise you have to run the multimeter in series. What voltage is the system running at with ignition on/off/when you apply the brakes/idling/at higher engines speeds? Have you tested under no load then full electrical load conditions? Also when did the issue start? I would suspect your alternator from the description you have given. The brushes might be on their way out... However without being able to be there it's hard to make any kind of accurate diagnosis.
  8. Do you have a multimeter?
  9. How far is this event from Manukau? Excuse my naivety only been to Auckland once ever (n00b etc) I want to work out how the fuck I get there and back if it's even worth the hassle if it's too far etc.....
  10. I think math metal is a better term... Went to a gig of theirs last night confirmed that they are playing 6/6/6 and will actually be moving to Aucks soon. They are also having a nationwide release of their album in about July! Good news for you guys, bad news for Chch livescene.....
  11. Check http://www.cripple.co.nz for lyrics etc. The music is very dynamic and based around compound time signatures (Read odd time counts) and could be compared to Tool/Perfect Circle but much darker. The members play some very unique custom instruments (10 string guitars etc) Andy the singer is an electronic engineer who builds his own effects pedals, and second guitarist Az is my good mate Rob's older bro. Rene the drummer=one of the best.... For a sample of Six Days of Silence: http://www.cripple.co.nz/.%5Csix%20days.mp3 IMHO they have shown up Sativa as being shit every time they play
  12. If Cripple Mr Onion are playing, fully check them out if you haven't seen them already. Sickest metal band I ever saw etc. I'll actually be in Aucks that day too got a 3 week block course at MIT....
  13. Off topic slightly, but.... Aren't Mazda 6 engines "Miller Cycle" engines as opposed to "Otto Cycle" engines?
  14. When I still worked at the Servo, one of the friendly tanker drivers (top bloke) had one of these as his hack to keep his utter caner of an Evo 1 at home. Reckons it's got the torque to keep spinning the wheels in 3rd....
  15. An RB20DET could be had for a steal at the mo while people want to change theirs out for an RB25DET. Bolt a T04E on it, up the fuel, throw on an inty and you have yourself some potentially serious power... Like RT said though, the driveline/brakes/suspension will also need some potentially serious upgrades. And then you have LVV certification....
  16. I was gonna suggest an LS1 but heh a Commo engine in a Capri Something seems so wrong about that idea Why not RB? If one will fit in an S13 I don't see why it wouldn't fit a capri.
  17. Certain power tools use a similar spanner (Angle grinders and the like) It seems that every manufacturer has a different sized one too so your chances of getting one that fits are actually pretty good
  18. Yeah mate definitely look into an MSD ignition system of some kind. Having a more stable spark WILL improve the power delivery if it's currently not running at it's optimum. ANother thing is what is your compression ratio at?
  19. What are the dimensions of the primaries on your extractors? It's all very well having tuned length 4 into 1s, but not if the diameter is larger and has slowed exhaust velocity. Also have you had the valve timing tuned? Relatively good gains can be made by an experienced tuner on an accurate dyno and should actually reflect your driving style (DO you keeps revs up and power through corners or slow down then power out of them? - these are questions the people modding your engine SHOULD be asking of you) Being SOHC, the gains won't be as drastic as with a DOHC head where obviously cams can be tuned independantly for maximum effect.... Before making any rash decisions I'd look into whether or not you are being given the best from your current setup, though it may set you back a few man hours worth of quality tuning.
