  1. Ahhh, the joys of living in the country, i drove the corolla around for ages (around home) without lights etc untill i took the engine out, couldnt get enough of driving since it was my first car
  2. Awesome, a cousin of mine a had a worked 1350 Mini, it only did about 160k's but it fucking rocketed to about 110 then ran out of steam
  3. Tried it with metallic though?, Its not neceserally hard, just getting it consistant without runs and trying not to lean on/hit gun or hose on new paint when getting to those, hard-to-reach places
  4. Cheers man, Its crack up little beast.. can pick the front up and move her around the garage. How old you gonna be? and ya got any pics of ya old mini's?
  5. A problem i have struck is I'm not sure what colour to do the inside, the car itself is most likely going to be metallic green, and I find it bloody hard to get consistant with metallic in small cunty places, was thinking I could just flat black it but I'm not sure yet. Engine bay will be same colour as the car though
  6. Oh and I've got school holidays so thats the reason im going nuts on her, it will slow down somewhat during school in the next few weeks so I'm trying to get the hard part out of the way. Body work starts getting easy after a couple of cars and find faster ways of doing things.. and hey, it is a small car so theres not alot to do
  7. for the inside im not doing it "properly", i dont see the point as it never gets seen with carpet and everything, but dont worry the rest will be done right
  8. Primered the inside of the mini today, still needs abit of work in there but its mostly done.. got a huge headache cause mask is fucked.. so i rushed it. Done some other work over the last few days but never took pics.. I'm hoping to get her on the road by my birthday on 23rd aug.. or atleast painted
  9. Oh, found i did have one after all, my mate i got it off said there wasnt one there.. but i found it in the bottom of a box, cheers anyway i'll give ya a bell if this one is a dud though
  10. Quick update.. PRIMER!!, i love it when its time to primer, shows that its actually getting somewhere..
  11. For the question asked in the auction, it should say on the back the size of the rims, or a little metal plate somewhere on them, generally thats how it goes anyway
  12. Nice name.. been visiting Toyota3TC.com? lol .. see that name in so many places
  13. Yeah i did, was my first car, got it when i was 15 (17 now), painted it twice cause the first was absolute shit. 2nd was alot better, but still not great (im a perfectionist ), was an awesome first car though, 2nd car i did (74 colt) i paneled at home and sprayed it in town in a booth, was fucking awesome, useing a gun worth about 1g, heated and lots of light in there
  14. Haha yeah. I got the idea of those paint/rust stripping things from your thread, so big thanks to you, made my life so much easier haha. The shed is great, kicked my parents car and boat out along time ago (when i had my first project) muahaha. When i first started i had no power in there.. no lights etc, ran a lead light from the house at night, did my first 2 projects completely by hand.. I just need some extraction fans, heater and lots of lights on the walls and turn her into a booth
  15. First day of the holidays today, so went pretty nuts all day on the mini.. just stripping paint/bog and now have a headache from dust/paint and a funny taste in my mouth Did abit on engine bay last week, still stripping it out.. Sharing the garage with my sisters car/project
  16. Yeah, didn't know whether to leave that there and give the author credit or delete, gone now though
  17. All done - wasn't that hard, cheers methodz
  18. why dont ya run the ugly bonnet till ya find a new better looking one?, beats wasting paint imo if its that serious, is late bonnet the one with the big square hump?
  19. Now we apply the clear coat for protection of the paint, apply in the same matter as above. I would still clear even if I was using spray bombs as it is just another layer of protection which will prevent metallic from becoming dull. Oooooo Nice Then wait until the paint is almost dry (a little bit beyond the tacky stage) and then start unmasking. It is best to unmask when the paint isn’t totally dry as it is easier to get a defined edge. When unmasking make sure pull the tape back on itself and on the edges as it prevents the paint from lifting. Also if you have some bleed through you can remove it easier. Before and after unmasking Then you just have to wait for the paint to cure and you have a nice set of wheels! Before & After 5. Notes, Cautions & Extra Pictures Polishing notes Don’t cross contaminate between compounds. I would suggest polishing outside unless you want a whole bunch of little cotton strings all over the place(should of saw the mess i made). Wear safety glasses. If you wear long sleeves shirts they could get caught in the die grinder just to warn you. Painting Always wear a mask when painting. If you need to remove a bug, just use tweezers. If you need to fix a mistake let it dry first (except if it’s a bug then you should pluck it right out). When painting with a paint gun, always clean it right after using it and after each color as you wouldn’t want primer in the basecoat. Extra Pictures ooooooo Now that you have this nice set of wheels you might want to mount the tires yourself because you might not trust your tire shop.
  20. Awesome project man, those gold wheels look hawt, you got hammers n dollies or bogging it all?
  21. But doesnt it get all the images etc in the right places, instead of mumbled up text etc?
  22. Hmmm that didnt work.. trying my best.. but they have removed the quote function, probably so no one steals it.. But if anyone is actually looking into this, definatly worth signing up for
  23. Theres millions of pics so its not that simple, me = teh noob Worth signing up for i'd say unless someone with some brains can do it
  24. Just found an awesome guide to polishing wheels, could be a repost.. but meh Have to sign up to read it i think, best guide on polishing wheels ive read yet. http://dorikaze.com/showthread.php?t=3129 Should probably be a sticky?
