  1. Wof guy might buy it but if you're in an accident the insurance people might not cover you as your car is technicaly not road worthy
  2. the mounting points for the seats (as in the part that is atached to the floor) has to be 2 plates sandwiching the floor plan, they have to follow the contour of the floor pan (i think you can use cush tubes) but most rises are only like 10mm, the underfloor plate has to have radius edges and a nut welded to the plate also the 2 plates have to be rivited togther. hopefully that make sense
  3. if its a fwd engine, short answer is no. like RAanter said the cost of converting it to rwd + making it run isnt worth it unless you just want a 4age hunter. sr20de would be better imo, pinto would an easier option
  4. Fair enough, if you want one get one. But in the end weld quality will come from the operator, so an auto tig wont make it easier. On a manifold you wont much more than a rods worth of weld before you have to turn it anyway, same with pipe unless you have it in a lathe. A tig is very handy to have especially a high frequency one, but i cant see the point in buying an auto one.
  5. slightly off topic, but what are you trying to fab that requires an auto tig? also if you do make an auto tig, how are you planning on cooling the shroud?
  6. starts now, idles well but then dies when accelerating. now to sort out vacum leaks
  7. ok that didnt seem right so i took the cas off again and this time had a test light in the -ve side of the injector plug and it flashed when spinning the cas. but no viabration on the injectors tho. engine was sitting along time, i'l take the injector rail off and get them tested
  8. just pulled the cas off and could only hear the coil packs tick? is that normal?
  9. il whip the cas of and give it a turn. il do the fault codes in the morning. yea power there when cranking, no ticking tho.
  10. so i have wired up the ca but getting no injector pulse. there is power there but they are not working. there is fuel in the rail and has engine spark also the resistor pack is in. im new to injection so any advice is helpfull
  11. just cut both the mufflers out and replace with straight pipe
  12. yea iv followed that s12 link, done fuel, ecu power and ignition. just with the back up ecu power (12v constant) mine has 2 red wires and by the diaram dont look like they meet, can you remember if you spliced pin 32 or 58?
  13. will do, just a couple little things left to do before cert. like wiring lol
  14. can anyone tell me what to splice into on my ca loom to wire this up? i am only using the engine loom and have the wiring diarams so just pinout numbers would be fine. also i have read the S12 write up but cant seem to find some of the wires on my diaram eg the red wire on s13 harness does he mean pin 32 or 58?, and the ivac black yellow isnt there. i have done the stater alt etc already. thanks in advance
  15. yea il be down for the baby party, dunno if il be down before tho
  16. allgood, i went 8mm tank to rail, 6mm return
  17. Will i run into any problems running a 6.4mm id line to the rail and as the return? I ask because it seems like everyone uses 8-9mm pipe? but I have 5m of the bundy allready. fuel pump is walbro 550hp
  18. cheers for the info. i think my loom is for a ca18de as my afm is near the throttle body so il look at moving it
  19. I have a few Qs regarding CAs. With my engine now mounted up in the b1600, I am onto the part i have been dreading, the wiring, as alost all of my my previous engines have been pre 1980 tech. My engine came with 444cc GTR injectors, if this is the case i need a resistor pack right? and how can I tell if they are GTR My Afm is set up next to my throttle body, can i run it in my I/C piping after the BOV so i dont have to run a plumb back? i dont mind either way its just where its located but CBF moving it if i dont have to. Also, apparently this engine made 185kw on standard boost. It has has a T28 and with the 444 injectors and the computer has been remaped/gizmo chipped, what power sort of power am I looking at with a hike in boost to say 12-13 psi? Just want to know so i can get a fuel pump to suit Sorry for all the questions but computers and boost blow my mind. No doubt there will be more questions so thanks in advance
  20. sweet, il track one down then
  21. I have a s12 or s13 gearbox which has an electrical speedo sender, is there a mechanical unit that is interchangable with this? sorry if i have worded that poorly It is for a conversion and i want to use my mechanical speedo
  22. a guy in rotorua had a ke26 or 36 with a supra turbo engine. aparantly there was a whole lot of work envolved in the coversion and last i heard it was slowly destroying the car. very fast tho
  23. has anyone done this? I just want to know if the auto driveshaft will fit. My plan is to just take the engine and 5 speed out of my ute and put it in the 626 it is in a coupe if that makes any difference
  24. cool, PM me the price if you want.
