  1. Dreams are free: Wish I could get it this low. However, on my budget and due to the fact that bits aren't readily available off the shelf for one of these, I'm crossing my fingers that compressing the springs leaves it at a respectable height. Gotta have that "street cred yo" etc
  2. Well, it's been a long time since I have been "active" member on these forums due to selling my 4AGE KP60, building a drift car and rolling an E30 as a daily (would could be considered as old school I guess), but after seeing the quality of some the cars you guys are churning out at the moment, and flicking off my E30, I thought I'd share my new OS acquisition. 1982 Mitsubishi Sigma SE 2.0L 4G63 SOHC carb'd 5 speed goodness. Bit of history on it; NZ new, and as far as the previous owner and myself have found, it is the only NZ new Mitsubishi of its era to come in black. Black was only an option on imports in later years. The car was custom made for the Director of Marsden Alexander (a Mitsubishi dealership) by Mitsubishi New Zealand, then seller's father bought it after it had done 1500 km. The father passed away in 1997 and it went into dry storage for 10 years until 2007, when his wife decided to take it out every now and then in the weekends, but she has suffered a couple of strokes and is going blind so they have decided to flick the car off, with the money going towards her rest home fees. Has tonnes of sweet OS features, electric windows (driver's is auto up or down), rev counter in gauge cluster, central locking via a button on the dash, lights everywhere (rear pillars, rear of centre console etc!), 1980s radar detector, electric aerial, tow bar etc! Has only just ticked over 70,000 genuine kms, and this thing is fucking mint. Failed to take photos after initial purchase due to the fact that I just wanted to drive the fucking thing! So here are some photos of me test fitting my wheels. Have since modified original mudflaps, resprayed grille satin black, removed headlight covers and replaced one completely fucked idler arm! Hoping to begin the lowering process tomorrow. Will consist of taking factory springs out and sending them up to Autolign where they will be compressed as far as they can go and retempered. Front inserts are relatively new so will be machined down and rear shocks will either be matched up to some shorter ones or shortened. Then my 15x8 Diezel D-Windows with possibly 195/55x15s, obligatory dildo shifter and Nardi wheel, 2 inch exhaust, air filter etc Chur.
  3. Ah fair enough then mate! Keep us posted!
  4. Only my opinion man, I'm not a fan of "balloon" tyres. Also, may run into rubbing issues when slam is applied. As I said, my 10 cents (which isn't worth a lot haha)
  5. Dope Commy bro. Need low. Please! Also, slightly smaller tyres all round. Just my 10 cents!
  6. Yeah mate, this was one of my options. We deal with Autolign (Cobra Springs dealer) through work, get them a reasonable amount cheaper than 350 for a pair due to my discount. However, I have no idea what measurements I need to give them...obviously internal diameter of factory spring but anything else is lost on me. Boss wants me to send my springs up to Archers in Rotorua to get compressed (once again, have no idea what to tell them! "uhh please compress these as far as you can go?!"). Looking at my front end there she needs a fucking 100mm drop! And yes, as I want it low, and the springs captive, I will be sending my shocks up to Autolign and getting them shortened.
  7. Cheers mate. Any specific year for the Starion springs? Or are they all the same? Obviously I would need to shorten the shocks all round then?
  8. Hey guys, just acquired me a 1982 Mitsubishi Sigma SE. This is my first Mitsi so I require some help...she needs lowering. Bad. A LOT of lowering! Photographic evidence: Have rung up my suppliers through work (Autolign and Stocks), apparently they have never made "superlow" springs for a Sigma...and there is one set of "lows" available in the country (I can see these doing stuff all!). Has anyone here been through this before and managed to get yours sitting at a more respectable height? This is the height I'm after http://www.sigma-gal...t=6555&start=30. Apparently this is lowered on compressed springs in the rear and compressed Mitsubishi Diamante station wagon springs in the front. Anyone have some more specific information than this, that doesn't really help me a lot. Or my last option is to get some custom springs made by Cobra springs and my shocks shortened through Autolign, which I can organise though work but it seems like a headache, I've never had to do anything like this before, don't know what measurements I need etc and don't really want to leave my car up on axle stands for a couple weeks! Help! Quick photoshop for lols: Cheers
  9. done diff today. shortened axles about 5mm or something. sit nice and flush now now i want some decent fixed back seats, the RX7 seats are old school cool but not very supportive and fairly uncomfortable. that is all.
  10. real happy with current height and suspension set up so wont touch any of that. yeah some more Superlites like the ones i had made for my DX would be aws but they were big bucks. id hate to work out the retail on them as i obviously got a sweet discount on them.... sigh...
  11. I reckon the 7.5's won't fit all that easily... I'd suggest a trial fit if you decide to go that width before you hand over the cash... yeah man thats sweet im in the wheel/tyre/suspension industry anyway so i can easily get them sent down/send them back if they dont fit. just not a whole lot of decent looking rims around in a 15x7 and a suitable offset these days. would love some JDM wheels but im not made of money plus i like to stay loyal and order wheels through work.
  12. Nearly an anagram of spacie /Spam omfg!!!1!1 OK, cease spam
  13. yeah some 15x7 at 0 or 15x7.5 at 0 like Konig B-Bombs etc are what im looking for i guess, and have a set of 195/45x15 Nankang NSIIs at work to go on but want to wait for new rims before i change tyres over.
  14. thanks boe. why AP60? lol yeah will hold on to Reflexs for spare skid/track/whatever rims. not sure 8s would fit in the factory guards??? and need some with big brake clearance as my front calipers are rather large...
  15. gay. i hate doing stuff that requires effort like contacting other countries... theres an outfit in Christchurch thats selling new windscreen seals on Tard Me so i might hit them up, i need the windscreen one anyway...
  16. they dont list anything for a KP Starlet, want to replace all my rubbers/seals... any suggestions? sick of it leaking like a sieve in the rain...
  17. Plans are as follows: Put drift style wheel on DONE Fit LSD as car came with an open diff with fucked bearings DONE 4.3 LSD fitted but diff leaking oil through seals, have replaced these but it appears Choke On The Smoke have shortened the diff but not the axles accordingly so am getting some 5mm spacer/shims made up to solve this issue. Get some better wheels. front wheels sit out more than the rears and are spaced out 15mm to clear calipers. need something that will clear my calipers, 15 inch, at least 7 inches wide and will fit in my guards. Tried putting 5mm spacers on the rear to try and bring the rears out a bit more but there wasnt enough thread left on the studs probably fuck all out there unless i get Performance wheels to make up some more like for my KE70...but thats $$$$$... Get some better tyres DONE. have some 195/45x15 Nankang NSIIs sitting at work for me
  18. so yeah been away from this site for years, thought I'd become a regular again the quality of your builds now are amazing since then, looking forward to catching up and going to a few meets etc! anywhoo, to sum up what ive been up to, crashed my Triumph 2500TC and sold it which im fucking gutted about now after seeing Snoozin's! (very very badass imo!), sold the Mark I esky after abandoning all hope on it and the Mark II estate wagon after id done all i really wanted to do to it a few years back (saw the Estate later that year at the 4 & Rota Nats, exactly the same as I'd left it). Then got the minitrucking bug and bought a D21 Navara with a SR20DE, converted the front to Pathfinder (4wd guards and all that), some low, 17s etc. Got bored and cbf with all the rust in the tray so sold that too (wont bother posting photos, it aint old skool)... Then got this... 1986 KE70 wagon, almighty 4K drove it all the way up from Christchurch! then turned it into this: lowered with Cobra superlows up front & Dobi 2inch blocks out back on 16x8 +4 offset Performance Superlites (charcoal centre) and stretched 195/45x16 tyres. Ramflo air filter, aftermarket oil breather filter, Coby extractors, full 2inch exhaust into a stainless dumpy, blue Top Gun silicon leads etc. Rolled guards, woodgrain MSport old skool steering wheel, AJPS spin turn handbrake knob, Panasonic headunit, Fusion 4inch speakers in front kick panels, boxed Fusion 6x9s in the rear etc etc etc Got bored of it and after tossing up if i should 4AGE it, ending up selling it... Which leads me to my new toy... 1982 KP60, redtop 4AGE conversion done by Choke On The Smoke Racing in Rotorua. custom engine and gearbox mounts, Coby extractors into full mandrel bent 2inch system, 1 resonator, 1 muffler and rotary style boiler muffler out the back. Walbro electric fuel pump, big fuel lines, cut and shut front facing plenum, TVIS removed, intake pipe and pod filter, custom big alloy radiator with front mounted electric fan, new silicon leads, HKS spark plugs. T50 22 spline cog swapper with Xtreme heavy duty clutch kit, lightened flywheel, short shifter with D1 Racing weighted gearknob, modified pedal box, shortened Hilux diff with 4.3 LSD. brand new shorter KYB shocks all round, superlow Lovells springs in front, super low Kings in the rear, Nolathanes all round. AE101 Levin discs all round, twin pot calipers in front, singles in the rear. 15x7 38 offset ROH Reflexs on 195/50x15s with 15mm spacers up front to clear the large calipers. 4 point rollcage, fire extinguisher, Mazda RX7 seats, stripped out rear, RJS harness, SAAS drift dished steering wheel, Autogage 5 inch tach with shiftlight, Autogauge oil pressure gauge, battery in box in boot, custom immobiliser (requires chip to start), black carpets, hood lining, doorskins etc. full respray in a custom yellow. probably missed some shit.
  19. how the hell do you change the title of this thread? it clearly never became my sisters wagon! anyways, some more photos of what she actually looks like these days. Cragar quicktricks with 175/60x14 Yokohama stickies 1600 with Kent fast road cam, 32DGV Weber, Ramflo and extractors into 2 inch exhaust with one muff and dumpy. She's all good for a daily driver.

  23. sup all. once again i havent been on this forum for a year + new pics anywho 14x6 Jovite jdm drift stz rims on 4x108 - 4x114.3 spacers, 175/65/14 tyres. had to take em off unfortunatley; had mad guard rub in the rear with passengers. so, will sell them or roll guards & hope for the best got these on now, 15 inch steelies, 195/50/15s i think from memory. also took GAY cannon off and put dumpy on. rocker cover isnt homo pink is a nice gloss white now. sounds all fitted, SAAS steering wheel, gearknob and gearboot too.
