  1. Awesome Weekend. much fun was had, I just wish Corbie wasn't so angry. Here are some photos I took at horopito,
  2. Yup that was me. I am up there all the time visiting my friends so it is no biggie dropping the stuff up to you.
  3. Got my WoF and rego on my Charger today so I am all set to go. Hey Tai I live in Auckland and could try fitting them in the Charger. The Charger isn't very big though so I probably won't be able to fit the bumper in the car. Have you got some rough dimensions and I could see if they will fit.
  4. I am all paid for etc. I will be leaving Auckland about lunchtime on friday so I should get there about the same time as you KK. If anyone else wants to squeeze in to the back of the Charger then they are welcome to. Corbie called shotgun but I have both backseats still free, just be warned the Charger is a short wheelbase Valiant and the 6" they took out of the wheelbase killed the rear leg room. Pretty much a 2+2 coupe.
  5. I have tried ringing and emailing but I can't get hold of anyone to book.
  6. David Vizard writes some cool books. He used to build Avenger engines back in the 70's. I have an article in which he talks about the tricks he used to build his 160HP Avenger race engines. Awesomely cool stuff and the guy really knows how to build an engine. If any of you are interested here is an article by David Vizard about "Turbulence and Combustion Dynamics" in Avenger engines. http://www.gofastnews.com/showthread.ph ... n-Dynamics
  7. I run a Holley 390CFM 4 barrel on my 265 Hemi. I don't think it is that great. It is better than the old carter but nothing to write home about. I would rather have triple webers.
  8. I might cruise down to Hamilton on Friday night and leave with the Hamilton boys on Saturday morning as it is a 4 and a half hour trip from auckland. Or I will see if I can get Friday afternoon off work, in that case I will make it a 2 nighter.
  9. Yeah it is pretty night and day on an Avenger but that same article has a guide on how to modify the weber to get finer fuel droplets which boosts the HP of the Webers by about 3HP but the Dellortos still beat the Weber by 11HP. In Group 1 racing in UK they were stuck using Webers because it was what the Avenger Tiger came out with but you were allowed to modify the internals of the carb. All the open class Avengers back in the day used Dellortos due to the extra power you can get out of them. I did heaps of research in to Weber Vs Dellorto when I built my race car. But as I said before most if this info only applies to engines like the Avengers which has tiny little combustion chambers and hates large fuel droplets. Anyway that is enough ranting from me.
  10. Damn straight. They sound better also. This is from an old acticle by David Vizard about tuning Avenger engines I posted on the Avenger forum. Dellorto Vs Weber at different temps. You can see a big drop off in the Webers. But that is only due to the Avengers engine design. Carb Dellorto Dellorto Weber RPM @70° @88° @88° 5000 90HP 87HP 84HP 6000 118HP 115HP 107HP 6500 125HP 121HP 114HP 7000 128HP 125HP 119HP 7500 132HP 128HP 117HP
  11. On both my Avengers I run dual Dellorto DHLA40's. On the Avengers the Dellortos make much more power due to the finer fuel atomization. This make a huge difference due to the head and small combustion chamber. So in that case the Dellorto is the easy choice. On the other hand my Chargers has a 265 Hemi which on the E49 etc they run Triple Weber DCOE45's and because of the larger Hemi combustion chambers they like the larger fuel droplets of the Weber. So in that case Weber is the easy choice. I don't know what the heads and combustion chambers are like on the Pinto engine so I can't say which is better on that engine but myself on a small engine I would lean towards Dellortos.
  12. If your commy isn't up to towing I could tow the trailer with the Charger. The 265 Hemi has tons of grunt.
  13. You can cruise down with me in the Charger if you like.
  14. I am always keen for a road trip. I'll bring the Charger this time.
  15. Haha, true. I would probably lose in a battle anyways but an OS car photo shoot day could be pretty cool. Everyone just bring their cars and we photograph the crap out of them.
  16. That is pretty awesome doing it hand held for a second. Top work. I must say I am pretty impressed with cannon image stabilization lens but holding it that still for a second is pretty legendary. Tip of my hat to you good sir. makes me want to get out and take some more pics with my camera. Photo battle?
  17. Awesome pics. That last shot is killer.
  18. Haha. I just posted them up here viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27341 Took me a while to do some magic on the computer to make them look nicer. I hope it worked. I really like the photo of your Sigma.
  19. Yeah I was really happy with the price for the amount of work he did on the seats. They look really good now and feel much better with the new foam and rebuilt base. He is also doing my new dashboard and a new rear parcel tray for me.
  20. I got it done by a guy on the north shore. Grant's Auto Upholstery. Cost $190+GST to have both front seats repaired. He replaced the foam in the drivers seat base and rebuilt the whole base then replaced the 2 ripped sections with new vinyl before vinyl welding all to small rips and dyeing to match the rest of the vinyl. The passengers was pretty good to begin with so he just welded the small rips and dyed them.
  21. Here are some photos of my front seats repaired.
