  1. FB could work, particularly if there are groups of well-off Vauxhall foamers.

At events I go to like Beach Hop and swap meats there are always cars with for sale signs on them. A friend sold a mostly finished hotrod for good $$$ that way.

I'm not sure what events would attract your ideal buyer, maybe Leadfoot in February? McLean island swap meet? Muscle car thing in Rangiora? I'm not well up on SI events.

TM is the easiest starting point though. Start at the high end of your price range.

  2. Working on this is a bit of flashback.

I had made this steel water fitting as the S14 one wasn't right. However the radiator hose was rubbing on the intercooler piping. I picked up a couple of sch 40 bends.

A bit of hacksawing, grinding, and tig welding later....

(tig welding heavy wall pipe is much more forgiving than sheet metal)

    Also uncovered the intercooler

And some piping. Might get this hpc coated if the price isn't too steep.

Would be an interesting exercise if I did.  All Aussie Marinas had 3-point static belts in the rear, US Marinas had inertia-type 3-point belts in the front and "retracting seatbelts" in the rear.  Is there an age limit for upgrading seatbelts (what has to be done for '60s Mustangs and Chevys)?

Yes. It is all laid out in the link above. There are special rules for pre-1979.

Have never looked into those rules.  Was thinking of fitting inertia-reel belts into my Marina, which has mounts front and rear for static 3-point belts.  Won't be happening if I can't use those existing mounts, just keep it "original" as it's still perfectly legal to drive with just the static front belts.

Presume you need to get proof from Mitsubishi that the original mounts met the original and current NZ Standards?

For a WOF, you can probably just do it with no issues (I have a couple of cars with webbing grabber inertia belts that only had statics originally).

Entry certification is a tougher test though, and they probably focus on seatbelt mounting issues.

Do you understand much about this said shunt? Iv followed the lines to fighting bay to see where they piss off into the water but id like to know more about it in laymans terms

There might be some info on the Transpower site? There is s book on the history called White Diamonds North.

Is there a minimum requirement for clearance between the inside of a wheel rim and the brake calipers? Tried the stock wheels on the VL tonight and there's only a mm or two between them. Slightly concerned the Royale wheels may be a different design internally to the Calais wheels which clear 290mm brakes

Mine are really close, same sort of clearance 1-2mm. IIRC I tickled the corner edge of the caliper with a grinder so they wouldn't rub.
