Thankfully nz is generally leagues behind other countries so I don't think this will concern us for a wee while yet.
Concur with @RUNAMUCK about smugness ov EV owners, our neighbours have a Prius and electric outlander and they're snobby wankers haha.
The thing I don't understand is why people get so excited about speed with electric cars, sure they're fast and all but the people who wank on about teslas and the like are generally "car guys". What about the sound, the manual gearboxes, the thrill of actually driving a car. I just don't see what the excitement would be with clocking big speeds if your car sounds like a fucking microwave.
Ex-lucas. Battery pack where engine would be, electric motor where gearbox would be.

Does the track care if the welding is a bit rough?

so this is disgusting, but interesting point in the ad about the rego - could mean you can just up the displacement and run on a car rego rather than the 50cc moped limit? but...does that means warrants? dunno.
You can do whatever you want until the cops stop you.

Is it easy to get the starter out? I'm cheap so I'd just stick the new end on it, and maybe a degrease if you are keen.
That seems a good price from NW. They are USD70 on rock auto.

Good score!
Are you going to change your avatar pic from the "mid eighty's shitter" one?

Look Ma, no teef!
Seems like an odd thing to happen. I guess it must have the correct ring gear (153 teeth) as it's been assembled and working for quite a while.

It was much funnier when @Threeonthetree had this car.

Roof has reached the 'good enough for me for now' stage, so removed the masking. Put the fuel pump in and moved it out of the garage today.
I need to sand and buff the clear coat on the tailgatess before they go back on. Also the steel floor panel needs some attention as it has a bit of surface rust on the lower mounting surfaces, and I don't want to mess up the new paint in the back.
Metalflake I'd rate as 'OK for a first attempt'
I need to 'phone a friend' to help with the windscreen reinstall.

Justin is a member on here - barracuda I think.
Maybe he has some sexy outtakes?

If the rules specifically so 'no welding' then there's nothing to stop you locking the spider gears by non-welding means.

It's a good thing that the 3rd Thursday is late this month. Won't be daylight savings though, until the weekend after.

I'd link to grunta's too, but his photos are all dead/pb'd

I'm going to away boozing with old fart Hot Rodders at Labour Weekend.
Is Hawkes Boes happening this year?

Autos are for old men. Column shift manuals are cool for a cruiser.
Surely with a proper ratio setup the diesel torque would see you right with too much shifting.

Not sure, I'll have to find it again and have a look.

I used one of these
Found a thermo fan switch / sensor at repco that suited the temp I wanted. Had to tap the hole to suit. But works well. Made sure I got a two wire one so basically works as a switch earth to the relay for the fan. Other side either permanent power like mine so still works when car is off. Or on ignition so it doesn't. Was super easy.
You can get those radiator hose fittings from Ali-X.
I have a doo-dad switch like this one

Haven't wired it up at this stage though.

I asked about getting the electronic copy if you already own the paper version (I do) but got a big fat NO.
Seems like a dick move to me. You can buy individual chapters though.

If you are keeping the wagon, surely you should swap the engines over?
